Is Justin Bieber the Perfect Anti-Bullying Spokesperson?
Pop-Ed: This past Friday night,
Justin Bieber was kicked out of a
laser tag center in British Columbia for allegedly punching a 12-year-old kid in the face.
No need to panic, y'all. The Biebs didn't resort to violence! Several eyewitness accounts confirm that no punches were actually thrown, and Justin only accidentally brushed the 12-year-old with his arm as he ran away from him and his posse. Rumor has it that the pre-teen perpetrator, along with a group of his friends, cornered Justin, shot him repeatedly (with lasers only, thank God!) and berated him with homophobic slurs.
It looks like the father of Justin's assailant plans to press charges. We're guessing he's not going to have much of a case, but even so, Justin Bieber doesn't want to let the incident go unnoticed. And against the advice of the team surrounding him, who'd prefer to sweep this laser tag scuffle under the rug, Justin feels it's important to speak out about what happened.
Sources say that within the next week, Justin plans to take a stand against bullying and homophobia. His laser tag confrontation apparently opened his eyes to just how hurtful verbal assaults can really be.
It's fantastic that most of Hollywood has jumped on the anti-bullying bandwagon, but they seem to have finally found their perfect spokesperson in Justin Bieber. Not only is Justin an actual teenager and peer to those the campaign is specifically intended to reach, he's also respected by this targeted age group.
Most pre-teen and teenage girls you'll encounter have infectious cases of Bieber Fever. The fact that he's releasing his own line of nail polish alone attests to this. But teenage boys, for the most part, have an appreciative admiration for the floppy-haired singer as well. This comes largely from Justin's friendships with hip-hop heavyweights Usher,
Drake and Kanye West. (Kim Kardashian even has a little crush on the Biebs -- what guy wouldn't envy that?)
Although Justin's straight, he can certainly attest to being called a gay slur and other hateful terms throughout his life. He's also been bullied for his short stature and the high-pitched voice that's since earned him millions. So despite his massive success, this teen megastar hasn't been immune to bullying by his peers.
While some adults scoff at the teen heartthrob, most of us are past the point of looking to him for inspiration. (At least, I certainly hope so. Tom Brady and his hair might beg to differ.) But it's those impressionable kids who do still revere the Biebs that need to hear, straight from him, that he too has dealt with bullies and it does, indeed, get better.
It's unfortunate that, like so many others, Justin Bieber's been a victim of bullying. But let's hope his recent laser tag incident causes him to stand up against bullying and homophobia, rally his fans behind this cause and provide some Hollywood hope to those suffering who need it the most.

What does Bieber know about being bullied? What a joke ...Witnesses say nothing happened at this Laser Match..It's all made up to get his face on one of those "It Gets Better" Videos.
How absolutely ridiculous they would pull such a dirty trick to again have his face plastered on You Tube..
Way to go Usher.......Let's line those deep pockets of yours with more Bieber fakery...........

Misspelling profane words so you can get them posted leads me to conclude you are uneducated and silly and I bet you listen to his music all the time baby,baby,baby,baby...
You don't need to be a fan of Justin to know that the majority of the replies here are disgusting.
You people are pathetic, all of your replies (with the exception of Drayke) are full of homophobic slurs and hate speech. You're the very people this article is referring to.
I'm not very surprised by your ignorance, though, being jealous of a successful young man whom is living the life you will never live because you spend all of your life cowering behind the shelter of the Internet
If anybody needs to "grow some balls" its you cowards. I spit on the whole lot of you.
