Rihanna Leaves Manager, Joins Jay-Z's Management Company
After winning several Grammy awards for their collaborations,
Rihanna and
Jay-Z are making their partnership even more official--Rihanna will now be managed by Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management, the
Associated Press reports. She was previously managed by Marc Jordan.
In a statement released to the Associated Press on Wednesday, the singer said she's "so excited to take this next step in my career."
Rihanna also announced she'll be launching a new company called Rihanna Entertainment to "merge all of her businesses, including music, film, fragrance fashion and book ventures."
Jay-Z signed a then-unknown Rihanna to Def Jam in 2005. They won a Grammy in 2008 for their song, 'Umbrella.' And earlier this year, they won two more for their collaboration on the rap song, "Run This Town," with Kanye West.
Rihanna plans to release her fifth album, 'Loud,' on November 16.
Interestingly, news of Rihanna's management change hit the same day Jay-Z made headlines as speculation hit an all-time high that his wife, singer
Beyonce, is pregnant.

I sure hope that Jay-Z is able to convince Rihana to change her "style" because she's been looking like a scare crow dressed up for Halloween lately. She is a very beautiful girl but she is hiding behind ridiculous costumes and horrible hair choices. Her talent for dancing (court is still out on her voice) is outstanding and I enjoy seeing her perform. The horrible style choices must go!
