Is Katy Perry's Indian Nose Ring the Real Deal?

Katy Perry landed in Jaipur, India, surrounded by rumors that she was tying the knot with Russell Brand this weekend, so it seemed fitting that the pop singer sported a traditional bridal nose ring.

The exotic gold chain -- also known as a nath -- ran from the singer's right nostril to her ear, covering her right cheek.

The nath is traditionally worn by Indian brides on their wedding day, until being removed on the wedding night by the groom to symbolize her virginity ending. The Daily Mail reported that Perry chose to have the piercing done in London rather than waiting until she arrived in India.

But Jezebel reports that a tipster says Perry doesn't have a piercing at all and is instead sporting A-morir's D'Arcy glasses, which run for $260. We haven't examined Perry's nose ourselves, but we will admit that the glasses -- named after the former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'Arcy Wretsky -- do look similar to Perry's off-the-plane style.

Brand and Perry are said to be getting married this weekend at a luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary in the Indian state of Rajasthan, a local tour operator told the AP on Thursday. Read More on the Wedding.

The Daily Mail also reports that Perry is expected to walk down the aisle Bollywood-style.

Brand and Perry are reported to be staying Aman-i-Khas resort, just outside the sanctuary, with guests staying at the nearby Vanyavilas and Sher Bagh resorts, Singh said. Private security has already been stationed at the hotels.

Hoping to keep the event details secret, the couple had sent out wedding invitations saying simply that they were getting married in India and the celebrations would last for up to a week.

Perry's Twitter page also contains a plea for privacy: "TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift you can give us is respect and love during this private time. No use wasting our time with STOLEN or FALSE info. Thank you for this."

The couple have given the exclusive coverage rights to a London magazine, and no other photographers or journalists will be allowed into the resort.

In addition to the alleged nath, Perry will reportedly have her hands inked with henna tattoos for the ceremony, which will have Hindu elements.

So even if it's real what's the point? The article clearly states that it is removed to mark the end of the brides virginity and it's probably about a 95% chance she's NOT a virgin, so I mean it would be the equivalent to her wearing white. So again I say what's the point if she's not.
