Evi and Randy Quaid Want Asylum in Canada from 'Hollywood Star Whackers'

There's going to be a lot of judging -- and not just in court -- about the latest shenanigans of Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, who were arrested in Canada this week.
The couple had been no-shows in a Southern California courtroom earlier this week, where they were scheduled to appear, charged with vandalism and illegal squatting. They soon resurfaced in Vancouver, British Columbia, and were
taken into custody on Wednesday.
The two have now appeared in front of an immigration judge to seek refugee status.
"We are requesting asylum from Hollywood star whackers," was the couple's only statement to the media, delivered by their attorney during a break in the proceedings. According to
RadarOnline, the lawyer declined "to comment further on the mental state of his clients."
The hearing concluded with an order to release the couple from custody as long as they each post a $10,000 bond and promise to appear at their next hearing on Oct. 28, in Vancouver. However, the Quaids have an Oct. 26 court date in Santa Barbara, where they may certainly be seen as a flight risk if they appear.
The couple insist that they were not on the run when they were apprehended this week, and cited legitimate reasons for traveling north of the border.
Randy Quaid, 60, claims he and Evi, his wife of more than 20 years, made their way to Vancouver because he was to be honored with an award by a Canadian film group, and adds that they hoped to relocate to the area as a home base to relaunch Randy's career.
"I love Canada," he told the court. "It's been a very welcoming nation to me. I would not do anything to besmirch my reputation."
Evi Quaid, 47, not only promised that they would appear in court as scheduled for their next hearing in Vancouver, but added that she would agree to wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet while they stayed at a luxe hotel in town.

Some of their problem was stiffing the owner of a luxery hotel. Lots of luck to whoever owns the joint they are staying in.
I really don't think they have to worry about the 'Hollywood Star Whackers', considering his 15 minutes were up at least ten years ago, and she was never a 'star' at anything.

My thoughts exactly.
Warning to Canada: this couple cannot keep a roof over their heads unless its a jail cell or scam.

With that stupid look on her face, she must think this is a joke. Couple of losers.

This couple are truly very sad. Randy and Evi Quaid are qiote obviously eccentrics and living in a fantasy world of their own making. They need help badly and it is a shame that they are not willing to take it or admit in being a pair of rather mentally unbalanced individuals.

Their mental instability is being fueled by drugs.
Damn, Dudley Do-right beat the Dog on nabing these two.

NO!!! We don't want them here! Send them back to the US!!!!!!

Put them both in jail. They owe some jail time.

Great border patrol! How in the world did they cross without arise suspicion.
I feel sorry for the hotel they're staying at. They stiffed the last inn keeper of thousands of dollars. Good luck with the hotel manager/owner from collecting any money from them.

One or both will be dead by their own hand before 2011.
