After months of planning and attempts to keep the nuptials under wraps, a source at the resort in northwestern India where Katy Perry and Russell Brand are spending the weekend has confirmed that the couple is now officially married.

Today's traditional Hindu wedding took place at luxury property within a wild tiger sanctuary, according to the Huffington Post.

The ceremony was the highlight of a six-day celebration -- including a Bollywood-themed party on Friday night. The couple, who met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, got engaged in December '09 while vacationing in India, after less than five months of dating.

Coverage of the event was sold to a London news outlet; no other journalists were allowed entry.

Perry, 25, and her groom, 35, both reportedly wore traditional Indian attire for the ceremony, conducted by a Hindu priest. At a celebration on the eve of the wedding, Perry's hands and palms were designed with henna art, in the custom of Indian brides. She and other female guests were reportedly wearing saris for the wedding itself.

The Press Trust of India news agency is reporting that 21 camels, horses and elephants "formed part of Brand's wedding procession" -- accompanied by traditional Indian musicians and dancers -- that made its way from another nearby resort to the site of the wedding at Aman-e-Khas resort.
