Safari Gone Wrong: Russell Brand's Team Allegedly Beats Up Photogs in India

A bodyguard and wedding guest accompanying
Russell Brand on his wedding weekend in India allegedly assaulted photographers who were tailing the groom-to-be on a tiger safari Friday in Ranthambore National Park, according to the
Associated Press. A witness says Brand watched the incident from his jeep.
Katy Perry was not in the safari party. The couple are tying the knot today (the British comedian was making a return visit to the park where he proposed to the pop star last December) and have already sold exclusive photo coverage of the festivities to a London magazine.
Two men, a bodyguard and a friend of Brand's, stand accused of initiating yesterday's altercation when they jumped out of their jeep; one aggressor allegedly threw the first punch, clobbering a driver who was transporting four news photographers (employed by Reuters, AP, Agence France-Press and the Hindustan Times) through the park.
Soon the photogs themselves joined the angry brawl, during which a lensman claims his glasses and camera flash were intentionally smashed.
But you'll never believe the scary way the fight ended: The alleged victims say Brand's thugs made off with the keys to their jeep, deserting them (some bleeding) in a park full of wild tigers, leopards and hyenas. Rangers had to rescue the stranded men.
Local police now say Brand and his team will be questioned.
"The photographers have filed an official complaint of assault and all witnesses, including Mr. Brand, will be questioned about this," said a Ranthambore police spokesperson, according to
E! Online. "Police officers will be going to the hotel tomorrow to advise the alleged perpetrators of an arrest and that a case has been filed. It is certainly not a good thing because an Indian photographer has been beaten up in his own country by a foreigner. The photographer would like an apology and if the perpetrator is willing to apologize then we can take back the case."
Katy Perry certainly
wasn't very apologetic the last time her fiance tangled with photographers. In the mid-September incident that went down at LAX security, Brand was allegedly overzealous in defending Perry, and he ended up getting physical. This time, because he wasn't actually involved in the fisticuffs, he and his new bride will surely do their best to distance themselves from the drama. If authorities in India will let them, that is.

"It's a great performance of a character that isn't me," Parker told Us on Thursday night, while attending the 2010 Angel Ball, a cancer fundraiser in New York City.I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via age'lessmate.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..
Agreed.
Where's a hungry lion when you need one?
I don't think anyone has sympathy for these paparazzi. Most of them are cry babies looking for a lawsuit. They are invading people's privacy. Most of these singers/actors can't go anywhere in the world without being hounded. Some of it goes with the territory but imagine not being able to do "anything" outside of your protected home without being accosted by 10-20 people. Even a safari in India manages to bring out a group of photographers. Sorry, no sympathy here.

lol, Sorry to say I don't feel bad for the paparazzi. Leave people alone.

Unleash the tigers and lions at 'em, Russell!
I never really liked Russell all that much but they should be able to enjoy and have privacy at their wedding, afterall it is a special moment for them both i'm sure. Although, I do hope they release some pictures, this wedding sounds gorgeous! Katy is lucky.

Can't stand anything about Brand. He is not funny and don't understand his "fame". So don't care if his strange wedding was ruined by photographers. You know he wanted the press there anyway.

It is funny to me, that they left the paps where they had to be afraid of being killed by tigers. It dont get much better than that.

they were not invited, being nosey, trying to make money off a private wedding, so.... good for the bodyguards. if a few more stars did this they'd stop pretending theyre hit by cars, or provoking a fake pain. vultures all of them.

So a tiger safari was part of their wedding celebration? Oh yeah, that makes sense. Along with the love we feel for each other, let's celebrate our union by going out and killing some wild endangered species. Then we can get a rug made of it and decorate our newly wed love nest with the skin, hide and head of a wild animal. Sounds romantic and full of love to me!

Photographic not hunting safari. I have to say I think Russell Brand is a hoot and cute as a button at least on shows like the View. I wouldn't want to hear him on Howard Stern (or anybody else for that matter) but he's adorable on the view. My money is on this couple making it while so many others fail. I hope so anyway. Happy life, children.
Not killing tigers - taking pictures of them. I guess you could make a rug out of that if you wanted to, though.
Brand is sooooo creepy and Perry isn't far behind him...they are gross to look at, not to mention non-talented!

They need to make laws for these idiots, noone else has the right to stalk, why aren't they enforced against the paps? Team Brand/Perry now Brand all the way !! Congrats U two :)

just where would most of the limited-talent around now days be without the photogs etc that make them seem as if they were really important in the world.
sorry. if the photogs weren't endangering anyone, weren't 'in their faces', then they had no call for violence. without this nonsense, all these 'stars' would dry up and blow away....
