After being cast -- and then replaced by Liam Neeson -- for a comedic cameo in the sequel to the hit 'The Hangover,' Mel Gibson is downright "furious" with producers of the film, according to Page Six.An insider says, "He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user [and convicted rapist, as EW.com points out] who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance."
Gibson seemed to be making inroads on his career comeback -- after his public image was disastrously damaged over the summer by recordings of his angry rants to his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva -- however, the news of his casting in the 'Hangover' sequel was immediately followed by rumors of dissent among the cast. Gibson was swiftly dismissed, and the role of the tattoo artist went to Neeson.

A large percentage of my family perished in concentration camps, yet know-it-all Mel and his equally racist father maintain that the Holocaust never happened. He owes every Jew in the world an apology as well.
His replacement, Liam, is fantastic....so pleased this happened.

You don't understand? Your days of the handsome and sweet young man are OVER.
Once people know you are filled with anger and hate they are pretty much unable to invision you as a charachter in a movie.
All we see now is the drunk filled with RAGE. You could have gotten away with it after your public dui but no more after that.
Tyson was never a movie sweetheart and we knew he had issues. Yours developed before our very eyes.

I'm glad you said that. It's just like Tom Cruise and his Scientology and jumping on Oprah's couch, or Lindsay Lohan and all her drama - it's impossible to sit in a theater watching them without thinking about how nuts they are.
I think Mel Gibson should just walk away with what little dignity he has left.
It doesn't make any differencce who did what to who but the racist remarks and he obvious lack of respect for women is evident. No take backs on his rages. Sick man.

racist, ant semetic, abusive man wants to know why he isnt is a movie?? I wouldnt go to see anything he is in.
His second chance was after his drunken racist tirade. Now he's on three strikes and that means you're out. He'll have to produce his own movies and star in them if he wants to work.

Well, here we are Mel. You went from great family man with Robin, to a gold diggers pariah. Guess you will have to produce, oops, I mean that in a respectful manner. That is something you are good at and will serve to get your rep back to acceptable levels. Where in the world is your agent.

REALLY??? Are you people serious??? Mel Gibson is a movie STAR that has absolutely been OUTSTANDING in epic films, not only acting but directing. While the Hangover might be a hit with the under 25 crowd, it is in no way, shape or form ANYTHING like the great films that Mel has been involved with. He is a fabulous actor and THEY should be HONORED to work with such a legend. He and his movies will be around LONG after THEY are forgotten. Keep this in mind people!

I didn't know Mel's publicist read Popeater?!
Mel's past success is not the issue, it's the public awareness of his bad actions.
He has in no way turned his life around, no evidence of being humbled or regretful.
He could have a chance in the future if he really does change.
Sideshow Mel Gibson is furious about everything. He's such a d-bag. He should go back to his ranch in Australia and play with his cows.

Mel Gibson should just crumble up and die a slow death.

I like Mel and I think he is a great actor and Director...... I think he has gone thru some rough times and he has done some stupid things. He didn't kill anyone, he didn't rape anyone, he didn't beat anyone up, he mouthed off and said some racial stuff plus yelled and called his girlfriend some names.... So let's all ban him for being stupid !! I don't think so we have all said and done some pretty stupid things in our life, and where would we be if everyone gave up on You!! I think he needs some help on his drinking it's obvious he has a drinking problem, but you don't throw the baby out because the bath water is dirty !!

It won't be long before you see him sent to an institution. He's really on a downward spiral. This happens to his personality type a lot.

Deranged lunatic? Sounds kind of appropriate considering his behavior the past few years. Take this advice Mel? Get help before you self destruct.

Mel just needs to f***ing get over himself.

I think it is quite a step down that either Mel or Liam would be in a movie like Hangover 2. Both are very talented with a huge body of work that would diminished by being in a movie like that. It's sad, really, that Liam agreed to it.

It sounds like a lot of hypothesyzing about a whole lot of nothing and everyone's biting on it. For all that Mel may have done this article is very much along the lines of Bearing False Witness with Murderous Intent no less!

I totally understand the cast members of Hangover 2 not wanting to work with Mel, even in a cameo role. Why reward Mel for his terrible behavior? He must be made to understand that the consequences of his actions include being ostracized by his peers. Why should Mel get to rehabilitate his image on their dime?
