Report: Mariah Carey Is Pregnant With a Baby Boy

Although Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are still playing coy about her growing belly, the couple are reportedly having a baby boy, HollyBaby reports.

"She's having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn't want to say anything is because she is 40, and she's superstitious," the source said. "But she's going to appear on 'Oprah' and 'The View,' so she's planning on making the announcement soon."

While the couple, who wed in 2008, has yet to confirm the news, sources close to the singer tell PopEater the 40-year-old diva is indeed pregnant.

In June, Carey abruptly dropped out of Tyler Perry's new film, setting off speculation that the singer was expecting. Her rep quickly squashed the reports at the time.

Cannon has been the most vocal about the rumors, hinting that the couple's first child is on the way. "I've said it before and I'll say it time and time again -- when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her," Cannon said on his radio show in August. "There's a certain time limit that you're supposed to wait before you actually can officially say that you are."

The pair have not been shy when it comes to talking about babies. According to PEOPLE, Canon has been vocal about wanting to start a family. "We're going to do it," he said in March 2009.

We anxiously await the final word from Mariah!

she's supersticious because she's probably had a miscarriage before which makes a woman scared to even attach to a new pregnancy. if they know the sex she's between 3.75 months and 5.75 months along as you can start learning the sex of a baby at 16 weeks and in every 3 months there's 13 weeks not 12. besides stars have had children at or around 40 for decades even over 40 Genna Davis had her daughter naturally at 46 in 2002 and her twin sons naturally at 48 in may 2004 Patricia Neal had her youngest daughter 5 1/2 months before her 40th birthday or Katherine Ross had her only Daughter Cleo Rose 4 1/2 months before her 45th birthday September 17th 1984 as Katherine's birthday is January 29th 1940

god bless Mariah Nick and their baby on the way. She is one of the sweetest people on earth and deserves this happiness just because she waited until she was older doesn't mean she should be shut out of it. Melissa Newman didn't have her children young either she had her first at 35 second at 37 and both are healthy beautiful boys of course she didn't get married until she was 33 as she had seen what her mother went through with female fans chasing her dad and the tabloids always trying to make it look like they were headed for divorce when nothing of the sort was true
