Mel Gibson Gearing Up to Say 'I'm Sorry'

After the
shocking news that the cast and crew of 'The Hangover 2' wanted nothing to do with
Mel Gibson, the actor himself is starting to realize that remaining silent is doing him no favors in the eyes of the public and, of course, the Hollywood producers that hold his career in their hands. That's why the fallen star is getting ready to tell his side of the story, sources tell me.
"Since the second the tapes were released, every media outlet [including this site] has been contacting Mel's people asking for an interview," an insider tells me. "Now, after months of silence, Mel has finally realized if he doesn't say something really soon it might be too late. The days of burying his head in the sand hoping this whole ugly mess goes away are over."
Mel has his pick of any outlet, and everyone from Oprah to Letterman and the 'Today' show to 'The View' (oh, the tears that Babs would conjure!) have all made it clear that they would love to give him a venue to spill it. However, sources close to the actor tell me Mel would rather sit down with a man this time around.
"Mel did an interview with Diane Sawyer after his anti-Semitic remarks several years ago, and that didn't go so well for him," a friend of the actor says. "Now, with the stakes even higher, everyone thinks it would be better for a man to sit opposite another man to discuss everything that has been going on lately. I suppose the first choice would be Matt Lauer. It's certainly not going to be Oprah after she almost got Oksana to tell all."
Matt's skill and integrity cannot be denied, but unless Mel is willing to accept responsibility this isn't going to end well for him. One public relations expert tells me, "Mel must be aware of what he needs to do. And that is to say, 'I'm sorry.'"

I agree. I doubt if O'Reilly would do such an interview, but it would be great if he did. He does his homework and nobody gets away with anything when he's doing the interview.
What about the guy Oxana was with before Mel? She was with a rich celebrity and got pregnant by him and they have a son. Now she meets Mel, another rich celebrity and gets pregnant. I wonder who she will screw next? These golddiggers are incredible. She's the Sociopath, not Mel.

When you said he was planning a BIG MOVE... I thought yea...He is finally going back to Australia so we wont have to see or hear anything about him anymore and just as I was about to say Cheers and Good riddance................I read the rest of it..........

Exactly what I thought - that he was going into hiding in Australia! On topic, I don't believe that he is currently capable of a sincere apology. Until he recognizes what serious trouble he is in and does some real rehab and soul searching, he will stay in trouble. He has made bad choices and, like the rest of us, his choices have consequences. What a fool. He had it made (great career, great wife and family) but seems hellbent to throw it all away. And it is not because of Oksana. He's been saying and doing off the wall stuff for years. The difference now is that people are noticing and the film industry is no longer turning a blind eye to his inexcusable behavior.
What part of "Judge Not" don't some of you idiots understand?

If he was smart, he would go on Howard. Even though Howard is jewish, he would still treat him with some sort of respect (not like Mel deserves it). And also, ONLY Howard could get the most out of an interview with Mel.

Actually, Mel is originally from upstate New York. His father moved the family to Australia after being retired a big winner on JEOPARDY! Shortly after moving 'down under' he was attacked and beaten to within an inch of his life by a gang of thugs. He was nursed back to health by priests, at which point he became a devout Catholic.

If he had to do it all over again, he'd probably do it all over you.

Mel Gibson is a wonderful actor. I have enjoyed many movies in which he played the key role. However someone was right when they said that yes he should indeed apologize to his child. And perhaps to all his children. The problem for Mel is his past behavior added to this latest debacle. No matter what you think about his ex-girlfriend whether she is a gold digger or not is beside the point. He is expected to act like an adult. If he used bad judgement in picking a woman to have a relationship with that is on him and does not excuse the behavior he exhibited. As a man and a father more is expected of him. Perhaps one day he will grow up and learn to control his mouth and his temper and get the help he needs for the alcohol problem he obviously has. If not for himself then for his children. And maybe he should learn some respect for himself and for women because if I remember correctly his last tirade had him berating a woman by using derrogatory statements pertaining to her anatomy and she was only doing her job.

The media has prosecuted and convicted Mel on domestic violence, yet 4 months(!!!!!!) have gone by and he has not been charged of this crime by the authorities. The court has allowed him visitation with his daughter, which would not be occurring if they thought he was unstable. The hollywood types want to be politically correct and protest the bullying and abuse of a woman, but,in my opinion, this is not a woman to be believed. Oksana has contradicted her "story" too many times. I don't condone the language nor the treatment in those tapes,HOWEVER, if this was all a plan to extort money from him, every name he called her fits and is justified. I don't know of anyone who was being set up and then realized it, would feel and react any differently than Mel. I don't believe he hit her.
