Alexander Anderson Jr., creator of the classic cartoon 'Rocky and Bullwinkle,' has passed away at age 90, The Washington Post reports. Anderson, a famed cartoonist and nephew of 'Mighty Mouse' creator Paul Terry, is also responsible for the creation of iconic characters Dudley Do-Right and Crusader Rabbit.
According to Anderson's son, Terry, his father died from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease in the Carmel, California, nursing home where he had been living.

Thank goodness for DVDs.
RIP Mr. Anderson.

What a great political satire that show was. Loved it then. Love it now.

Rock and Bullwinkle was not really a kid's show. There were a lot of not so hidden message's in this "cartoon".

That was my favorite cartoon show as a kid. As an old adult now, I have R&B DVD's that I still enjoy. It was a two-level show: the adults enjoyed it on a whole different level that the kids. Great political satire.

I liked Rocky & Bullwinkle up until the 1980's.
There was almost no music in the actual cartoons,
except for the title sequences. I even remember
watching America's Funniest People, the spin-off
to America's Funniest Home Videos, and that show
just happened to be hosted by 2 people who often
immitated Rocky & Bullwinkle, themselves. The
sound effects in the cartoon series were a little
too repetative, though I loved the 11 Road Runner
shorts that used them. I think Warner Bros. should
release them on DVD to remind us of Alexander
Anderson Jr.'s creation of Rocky & Bullwinkle,
and the sounds that came with them all. Ny favorite
1960's Road Runner short is The Solid Tin Coyote.
