Celine Dion Was Supposed to Have Triplets

Celine Dion has revealed that she was originally supposed to have triplets this month, but lost one of the babies early in the pregnancy, E! Online reports.

In an in-depth interview with a French news station, Dion and her husband Rene Angelil talked about their twin sons Eddy and Nelson, but then revealed that a third didn't make it because its heart stopped.

"He chose to let go to give space to his brothers to grow," Dion explained.

Dion's new sons were born prematurely at 5 lbs., 10 oz., and 5 lbs., 4 oz., respectively, but are healthy. They spent a few days in neonatal intensive care, a common procedure for newborn twins, who often arrive before their due date.

At a press conference outside St. Mary's Medical Center, Dion's longtime obstetrician talked about the successful delivery -- and what the babies look like.

Dr. Ronald Ackerman -- whose son, Dr. Joshua Ackerman, also assisted in the delivery -- explained that the surgery to deliver the babies went as expected, with the first boy born at 11:11AM and the second born at 11:12AM. He also said that both babies were born with a "good amount" of hair.

The twins and Dion were released from the hospital on Oct. 27.

You are no "LADY"seven and should be ashamed whether you like her or not; an unborn baby died! People are so heartless and self serving these days. My wife and I lost twins so I know how this increidable entertainer and person feels. You never truely get over the loss. Celine is an awesome person with lots of talent. Personally, I think Celine is too old and put her life in danger to have these children. When is; Enough is Enough? These pop stars and movie stars are so ego driven they never put any thought into the consequences of their choices. Normal people usually let mother nature do what she does best, that is know when to stop.
