Who should play Princess Di in upcoming biopics? Years ago, Lindsay Lohan told In Touch Weekly she'd like to play the royal icon. That's unlikely to happen now. But according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Scarlett Johansson is a "possibility," along with "top" contender Keira Knightley, for an upcoming film that would take us through Diana's entire life from her childhood to her 1997 death.
The French producer of Knightley's 2008 film 'The Duchess' (which was marketed as having parallels to Diana's life) also made 2006's 'The Queen.' That film's star, Helen Mirren, is reportedly being sought to join the still-evolving cast as Diana's mother, Frances Shand Kydd.
Meanwhile, the paper reports another, bigger Diana biopic in the works. This one will zero in on the stylish Brit's relationship with bodyguard Ken Wharfe, and would be based on his 2002 tell-all, 'Diana: Closely Guarded Secret.' Charlize Theron has reportedly been cast as Diana opposite Ewan McGregor as Wharfe. Unlike the rumored Knightley project, which is in "early stages," the Theron-and-McGregor movie already has a script, and a nearly-$50-million budget.

Kierra Knightly should get the part. I would hate having an actress who does not have a 'proper' English accent do it. Having an American or anyone else don an 'accent' (and) they would fall short - would just not cut it. Knightly is the same build has the accent and the acting ability. Go for it Knightly!

Most Diana fans, who have embraced multiple TV productions about the beloved princess, rarely tire of seeing her dramatic life story told from a fresh angle. As long as the royal role is well-cast, that is!.I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via age'gapsingles.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..
'scuse me? Renee Zellwegger an american, did alright with Bridget Jones accent! I say Reese Witherspoon, she has the big blue eyes and blonde hair to carry it off, Keira looks nothing like Diana and Scarlett is too odd looking.
Reese Witherspoon lacks Keira Knightley's charisma and talent. Being an American myself, it's obvious a British actress would be a more authentic choice.
I loooove Princess Diana and I think the best person to portray her (I know she may not look like her but she would represent The Princess better than anyone I could think of) Would be Natalie Portman!

It is time to leave Diana and her family in peace. Nobody can possibly "play" the part of Diana; she was unique. Knightly, good little actor that she is, could play a British princess but hardly Diana.

It's Official. The BBC just announced: Lyndsay Lohan IS 'Diana, Princess of Wales'.
Amy Winehouse is out of the question then??. Maybe she can dub the dialogue.
Like I said just another gold digger who wanted to be a Princess.Look at her then him and theres the proof...She was nothing more than that and it got her killed.
How about another Di, Dianna Agron?

What about Meg Ryan?

LOL...maybe even Niecy Nash or Kathy Griffin?
To old.
OMG - Meg Ryan, what a wonderful choice. Meg has the charm, warmth, looks, and acting experience to be perfect. PRODUCERS - "ARE YOU LISTENING"? Meg Ryan - A winner of a choice!!!
Leave it alone Hollywood. You will never be able to duplicate her life. You are too greedy.

No actors I can think of suit the role at this time. perhaps now is not the time to make such a movie. Knightly ,as talented of an actor as she is, evokes a more turbulent spirit than Diana. . But who knows maybe she can surprise all of us.

If it has to be done, get beautiful Miley. She could break out the Hannah hair again. She loves the UK and goes there a lot and even met the Queen. I even think she could pull off the accent.

Get real. Diana was anything but a hillbilly.
I sincerely hope you're joking.
Miley Cyrus as Diana, Princess of Wales?? What's next, Kim Kardashian as Mother Teresa???
