Charlie Sheen Files for Divorce, Seeks Joint Custody

Charlie Sheen reportedly is filing for divorce from Brooke Mueller

After a wild weekend in New York, Charlie Sheen filed to end his marriage to his estranged wife Brooke Mueller Monday and stated in documents that the couple separated the same day as a Christmas 2009 altercation that led to assault charges against the veteran actor.

Sheen cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce and indicated in court filings in Los Angeles that the couple have a prenuptial agreement. He is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 1 1/2-year-old twin boys, Bob and Max, but is asking a judge not to award his wife any spousal support. In a separate divorce filing, Mueller seeks primary physical custody of the boys with visitation for Sheen.

The pair, who have been living apart since April, signed divorce agreement papers back in May but never filed the documents in court. The duo, who married in 2008, made headlines on Christmas day when Sheen was arrested on domestic violence charges in Aspen, Colorado. He allegedly assaulted Mueller and threatened her with a knife. The 'Two and a Half Men' star spent part of Christmas in an Aspen jail cell. The actor was charged with felony menacing, misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief.

Sheen and Mueller have both since entered rehab in separate programs.

Oddly enough, Mueller recently stood by Sheen's side following his alleged drunken, naked, hotel-trashing outburst in New York. "Charlie is a survivor. He knows how to handle himself," she told Extra. "You know how things get blown out of proportion," she said.

No it is actually his parents (Martin and wife) that support all the kids and x-girl friends and wives with beach condos and cars and school and support (except Denise Richards). This support has been going on sense the late 1980's. His other actor brother too. Younger gay brother and sister keep a low profile. Santa Monica High knows how to turn them out. Malibu'f finest family...

the only reason any of these women, including girlfriends, wifes-past and present-defend charlie and his *issues* is because he supports them all with his two million dollar a week pay check-i too, would support(verbally)anyone at all that supported me in that fashion...he's OLD news....Next>>>

He doesn't want to give her spousal support - the mother of his children? What a creep. He makes 1 million dollars per episode of that crappy show he is on-won't even dignify it with a name since it is such a piece of junk. I hope the judge gives her half of whatever he has. I can't even stand to look at him. He needs to go to jail-rehab won't help-they are too easy on him.

Robert Downy Jr. went through a terrible drug addiction and troubles with the law and look at him today. The difference?
Robert is talented, likable (although I'm sure he was a handful), and he got it together. He is now a good husband, a great father and does his job well.
Charlie will never do any of that. He is only mildly talented, he is stupid, dangerous to ALL women, a pervert and plain nasty. Hopefully he will hurt himself and not anyone else.
Wake up Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller - don't let your kids near that and stop covering for him - he is trash and not worth it. Not even for the money.

I cannot judge someone who is as sick as he. I hope he can get some help. Alcohol and drugs can make it so that we are not able to see who someone really is. As is, I think he is dangerous to him self and those he is in relationship with. with proper help he may have a chance to be himself again, whomever that is.
