Demi Lovato Enters Treatment Center

Teen star Demi Lovato dropped out of the international concert tour she was on with the Jonas Brothers and entered a treatment center to get help for "emotional and physical issues," TMZ.com reports. She entered the professional treatment center this past weekend.

The Disney star's rep released a statement saying, "Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.

"Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that," the statement reads. "[Demi] regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

TMZ.com reports the 18-year-old star is not seeking treatment for drug use.

A source close to Lovato says there was a physical altercation between the singer and a female member of her tour, which ultimately was the "catalyst" in her decision to enter treatment.

Earlier this year, Lovato dated Joe Jonas for several months before the two called in quits in May.

Honestly, with the amount of touring etc that these young stars, especially Disney stars, do, I am not surprised she has entered rehab for what is probably an emotional breakdown caused by doing too much work and not enough relaxation. We all tend to forget these young stars, great as they are, have all been working since their early teens or younger. Most of us watched TV, maybe worked at McD's, but basically cruised through our teens. These kids work too hard and everyone has such high expectations of them that the kids are afraid to say "when". Well, Demi, I think you finally said "when", rest, relax and enjoy life for a little while!

Dawn- What a dumb thing to say. Demi was bullied in school growing up. She is the sweetest person with a great family to back her. She is not and will never be a Lindsey Lohan. Be more sensitive when you make such a statement. Get the facts right.

Demi is not another Lindsey Lohan. SHe happens to be very grounded and a great role model. Sometimes people just have to confront stuff from their past. You don't know anything about what is going on. If she weren't a celebrity she might still be going to therapy. You don't know. So stop slamming on people. You need to just get over it. People who slam celebrities and watch for them to fall are usually the reason they do. I am hopeful for Demi and will be praying that she gets through whatever she is dealing with.

i believe it. after all when lindsay was young and partied too hard it was for "asthma." there have been tons of rumors about demi being a partier. thats why she stopped being bff with selena gomez. she was even photographed partying with wilmer valderama when she was 16...JUST LIKE LINDSAY!
