Willow Smith Explains 'Whip My Hair' to Ellen DeGeneres

'Whip My Hair' makes its television debut today along with Ellen DeGeneres' interview with Willow Smith. While we wait with bated breath to see the performance, the conversation segment is already online.

"It's basically the new 'I'm me,'" a smiling Willow, who turned 10 on Halloween, tells Ellen of her hit single. "I'm me, I'm doin' what I wanna do."

Willow said she almost panicked before performing the song. "I was really nervous."

DeGeneres showed Smith one of the better viral videos featuring her song -- one featuring a pet bird grooving to the jam. The host also gave Willow a bedazzled neck brace to preempt any hair-whipping injuries.

Willow admitted she has hurt her neck whipping her hair, which PopEater asked a neurologist to weigh in on yesterday. "In general, it looks pretty safe for a young person who has trained carefully for this specific maneuver -- if it's not performed excessively," Dr. Terrence B. McGhee said. "Having said that, I wouldn't recommend it for the untrained, or persons over thirty-five. That's when we begin to see X-ray evidence of degenerative arthritis in the neck."

I'm really disappointed in Ellen always promoting kids on her show and trying to get them famous. Let these kids be kids already! She should know better.

Who thinks about sex acts when they see this video? Not me. I think it's a catchy little tune and a great video. She may be a one-hit-wonder but who are you to criticize? WTF!!!! what is the matter with you people!! How are you going to criticize a child or their parents for letting the child do what she wants to do. You heard what she said. SHE ENJOYS THIS!!!!! As far as CHILDREN (Not kids. Kids are baby lamb's Get it right!) in celebrity home is concerned... they aren't just children. Most people wander what the celebrity children are going to do with their lives as they get older. You should not be criticizing ELLEN either. If she likes the song or the family and want to promote whomever, then she can she can do that 'cause its HER show! You can simply stop watching her show how about that!

am surprised that jada and will permitted their daughter to dress up like a child "thug" with the earrings and street garb to make this awful recording. even by children's standards it's awful. their son seems more subdued but the girl, her next stint may be on the Maury show if she's not reigned in. wake up will.

The actual video is kiddy porn. The child was 9 years old when she jumped around "singing" "I whip my hair back and forth" over and over, whipping her head in a scary parody of a sex act. Her parents should just count their money and let her grow up before the exploitation begins. She'll be a burnout by 12 at this rate.

Okay, I just watched it. Parody of a sex act? What kind of sex are you having, cuz if that's a parody of a sex act, you're doing it wrong. None of those kids made any sexual moves, I'm pretty impressed with how age-appropriate those kids danced. If you're seeing kiddie porn in there, you might want to ask yourself why you find sexuality in those kids. Maybe you need to talk to a therapist or your minister about it.

Wow. Okay, i watched the video, and there is no adult reference to the song, or the shots, or the dancing. I mean, one has to be pretty vulgar to imagine something that doesnt exist. Also, this kid is cool! Awesome attitude, great performance for a 9 year old girl, puts us grownups to shame for not having as much edge to our personality. I agree with emily and Megan. BTW, her parents are really cool to allow her personality to develop on her own. some people talking about how she should be "reigned in" and how Willow is a "disgrace" to other kids...is just rubbish. As long as she's grounded, she could be a model human being. Possibly better human being than these bashers are... chill man...live and let live.
