Details Behind the Incident That Pushed Demi Lovato in Treatment

It wasn't drugs and it wasn't a tiff with Ashley Greene over Joe Jonas that pushed Disney star Demi Lovato into treatment. So, what was the reason? A physical altercation with one of her dancers, according to PEOPLE.

"As she did on most nights off, Demi invited her band, dancers and her parents to dinner," says a source close to the singer. "Afterward, she broke off with a very small group."

The next day, her stepfather and tour managers were worried about the group's conduct the night before. And according to a source close to the situation, Lovato and the group had been partying.

"When tour management found out about this, they talked to the people involved, including Demi," source said. "Demi reacted badly and perceived that someone on tour had told on her."

After the group was reprimanded, Lovato confronted a young dancer in her tour crew, suspecting that she was the one who told on the group. "There was a short, physical altercation," the source said.

"Afterwards, Demi felt awful about her behavior and realized she needed to take personal responsibility for it," said an insider close to the family. "Because of this, and because of the battles Demi has fought throughout her life, both she and her family realized she needed to take steps to get help immediately."

It was then that Lovato decided to enter treatment and address her "physical and emotional issues."

As for rumors about a catfight with 'Twilight' actress Ashley Greene? "There was never an issue between Ashley and Demi, and there is no truth to any rumors about a conflict," Greene's rep said.

This seems to make a lot more sense than some of the rumors I've heard. I am proud of Demi for taking responsibility for her actions and showing the world she really is the one of the most, almost THE most, conscientious of the Disney starlets. I hope she gets the help she needs, and I hope she is able to get back into the biz better than ever before. She really is a great talent in singing, acting, and dancing, as well as a good girl.
