Doing the Math: Numbers Behind the Charlie Sheen-Brooke Mueller Split

Charlie Sheen Brooke Mueller Settlement Can money buy you love? Clearly not for Charlie Sheen. Looking at what his split from Brooke Mueller will set him back, it's worth asking if he did a good or bad job protecting his wealth.

As a divorce attorney, my advice is to never marry if you are not ready or have no plan for marital longevity, and even if you are committed to making your marriage work, protect your assets. And look no further than these mind-boggling dollar amounts to see exactly why. Yes, Sheen will get to keep the bulk of his $75 million fortune, but Mueller does get quite a payday after a year-and-a-half of marriage.

I've read through the 43-page settlement that was filed, and here's what you need to know:

► $55,000 a month in child support for their children until they are at least 18
► 50 percent of the revenues from the Getty Images partnership they made together
► $45,000 in moving costs
► A lump sum payment totaling $757,689
► A 2009 C600 Mercedes
► $1,254,846 for equity in their former home
► One week to use Sheen's timeshare
► $50,000 in attorney's fees

The settlement also gives Sheen a very generous parenting plan without nanny supervision and ensures that both parties will be silent on any alleged drug use or sexual affairs that Charlie may have dabbled in during the marriage.

The parties did have a prenuptial agreement -- signed three days before they wed -- but they had children after the agreement was signed, so additional terms had to be added to the deal to accommodate the kids and some extras for Mueller. All in all, Mueller scored BIG time. But in the wake of their divorce, they leave two very small children who will have to cope with their parents misgivings in a very public way.

etc. I'm tried of women saying it is tough for them--a marriage, divorce is the way they seem to go today-at all levels..
And you wonder why men look elsewhere-they (husband) learn right after the honeymoon what marriage has in store for them. Oh well you asked the question-she said I do and the rest is history to be written in the books..

Am I the only one who thinks that Charlie and Denise Richards will get back together? They went to New York together with the kids and no spouses. She refuses to say anything about the incident, being very protective of Charlie. Sure sounds like there is something going on there.

Perhaps she (Denise) is so quite since this night might have been to meet for a good old fashioned threesome. Some how it all got out of hand. That's Charlie style and she was married to him at one time....Keep all under wraps--Just a thought...............

So he's coughing up about 7 episodes of Two and a Half Men money. He earns 1.8- 1.9 million per episode and this divorce is costing him roughly 13.5 million. Add syndication money and he's covered till the pups are 21. Not bad, less than half a years work and he's out.

Strange how Emilio Estevez, Charlie's half brother through Martin Sheen his father, is NEVER in the news. He turned out to be an upstanding guy and they had the same dad.

Sad for Martin who is a great actor, environmentalist and father. Sure, Martin didn't divorce Emilio's mom, but Charlie had every opportunity in life, including a dad who adored him.

What a waste of a human being, honestly. Have you noticed how Martin Sheen isn't around much anymore? He was an A list actor too. Poor guy is spending all his energy on his worthless son.

What in the world are these people doing!!! 50 thousand a month child support!!! With todays economy that would buy a homeless family their own home. Unemployment at a all time high and she is getting all that. I say give it to charity and help others and not yourself. Noone needs that a month in child support high outrageous. To many people are out in the real world struggling and that women feels she deserves that. Get real people. Stars today forget the real world and lose track of what really matters.Wake up people

I have Grand Children going through this right now, I went through Divorce when my kids were very small. My X was the problem and I raised the children. Kids should not be put through these trying times, My 4 was between 4 and 12 years old.
I am not happy with what is going on in their life right now. They did not marry well to start with. Quite clear Government is not fixing this mess.

So far I've read nothing in the settlement that's outrageous. Brook won't be getting a settlement like Linda Hamilton (with which I agreed) and some others I could name, but it's fair. Charlie's kids shouldn't have to live a lifestyle less than what they've enjoyed. They should be his first priority.

Oh by the way, Susan-the husband should be there with her and if kids with them as well. In addition they should do husband/wife things. What I tried to state earlier is sometime with his celebrity/money status he could be fooled into thinking she loved him and it was love at first sight-Not--and the same situation when although men not rich but well off, women play the I love you game. Call it quits in 12 months or more and expect the gravy train to up their status. and than the next latter up etc.
