Julien Hug, a former contestant on 'The Bachelorette,' was found dead Wednesday along a scenic southern California highway, Hug's father, Bertrand Hug, confirmed.

Although authorities are "handling the incident as a death investigation where no foul play is suspected," RadarOnline reports that Hug, 35, shot himself in the head.

David Good, a contestant on the show during the same season as Hug and author of 'The Man Code,' was stunned by the tragic news. "I'm shocked to hear about these suspicions of suicide. Julien seemed like a motivated guy, which would have never lead me to believe that he'd resort to this. He seemed goal oriented and not the kind of man to give up!" Good told PopEater exclusively.
