As if following a script for teenage rebellion, 17-year-old 'Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus is simply not going to stop at flaunting sexy stage fashions, grinding on a dance floor with pals after hours and releasing an eyebrow-raising new music video featuring blindfolds and bedsheets. She also has no problem hitting a bar and kicking back like the big kids do.
Cyrus was spotted in Madrid this week casually drinking what appeared to be a Corona while out on the town with friends. The legal drinking age in Spain is 18, however authorities are reportedly lax about enforcing the law, and many allege that underage teens commonly drink without consequences.
But now, according to TMZ, the International Institute for Alcohol Awareness says the former Disney darling has gone too far.
James Copple, who heads up the organization, explains, "The young people that see her as a role model could mimic the same behavior, and as a consequence, will go out and become intoxicated, putting their safety at risk."

I think people need to get over their disgust with Miley growing up the way she sees fit. Unlike some stars (MJ, even though he drank and occasionally smoked cigs he made sure it was something he didn't do out in public) she doesn't really care about what her younger fans do because of her.

I'd like to see her get drunk then go running with the bulls.
I find it hard to NOT be disgusted over how she behaves BECAUSE she doesn't seem to care about what her younger fans do because of her! She's a LOUSY role model!!!!
Point made ...so don't buy her music or watch Hannah or buy the crap Hannah pushes and let her fade into her own personal oblivion..she has been a cash cow long enuff
MJ was NOT 17 years old! This girl has no parental supervision. She is a train wreck forming before our eyes. As soon as she turns 18 we will have our first "oops I forgot to wear my panties and they took a crotch shot of me" photo. I would bet money on that. I guess if dad is busy trying to live off of his one hit and mom is trying to bang a bigger star, no wonder she is as loose as she is. Lindsey Lohan look out! Miley is on her way!
No, Marsha, I disagree. It's an outrage to most that she's underage and has no parental supervision, only because she's a celebrity. Her parents should both be jailed
As it is, by the time this girl hits thirty she'll be looking like Yoda. She sure doesn't need alcohol's help.
The legal drinking age for beer and wine in Spain is 16.
It is not her job to be a role model. Any parents that allow that to happen it is their fault not Miley Cyrus's problem. You don't think way more 17 year olds drink than don't. She has no obligation to be a role model. if she chooses to live a wholesome life than good for her but if she does not its really none of out business. If you don't like the image and want to send her a message don't purchase any of her videos,cd's'etc.
shes 17 she is putting out kinky vids and drinking beer. i think she is crying out and doesn't even realize it. her father thought it was ok for his 16 year old daughter to do a pole dance on her vid, makes me wonder about him...
there's got to be a line. shes 17 she doesn't know squat. she needs responsible parenting which she hasn't gotten.
i wonder how long before she is as bad as lilo.
Spoken like a true "know-it-all" kid..
no mj just gave kids jesus juice
seriously. let the girl be. she is 17.. she doesn't need to be worried about what everyone else thinks about her. your child should be setting you as the parent and Jesus as the role models. I am pretty sure that alot of stars out there did a heck of a lot worse things at 17. she has great parents. trust their judgement. and besides why do you people care.
When I travelled to Europe at the age of 17, I had wine in some cafe in France. People need to relax and not be so judgmental. The report doesn't say she was drunk and falling down, it says she had a beer! Good gravy!
As someone else mentioned the legal drinking age for wine and beer in Spain is 16. Liquor is 18. She's not doing anything illegal. She's also not dancing on tables, taking shots, and acting out of control. She's on a trip with friends and relaxing and having a good time and enjoying the privilages of being overseas. People take things to such an extreme... she had a beer she isn't drunk, she isn't driving, she isn't underage whether the media looked into that correctly or not. Grow up people.
My fondest wish is that aindfhfgkmgh ans sssyue wound go running with the bulls in fire engine red drawers.
It appears to be the same old song and dance. Following in the foot-steps of Lindsey, Britney and Paris, Miley seems to be on the threshhold of a drink/drug life style, that will eventually drag her down to paparazzi fodder, and the ruination of her talent base. With her parents distracted by impending divorce proceedings her support base is shaky. .... Say it ain't so Hannah!I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via agegapsingl es.c 'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends.. Just love it
What kind of role model is this to the little kids watching her shows that are almost continious on disney, I think they should pull the plug on these shows.
Other countries have different laws concerning drinking age. In Mexico a person can legally drink at 15 or 16. I am sure that in Spain children grow up drinking wine with their meals. If Miley Cyrus is in a country where it is legal for her to drink I don't see why it matters. She will be 18 at the end of this month. When I was 18 it was legal to drink in the United States.
Miley is growing up in spite of what every mother of a ten year old wants. But Miley at 17 should not be a role model for someone 10 years of age anyway. Moms, introduce new role models. Also, if Miley tried to stay the Hannah Montana at the beginning of her show she would end up like Bette Davis' Baby Jane! Creepy!
