The Name Game: What John Travolta and Kelly Preston Want to Call the New Baby

Back in May, 'Old Dogs' star John Travolta and his wife of 19 years, Kelly Preston, revealed the happy news that they were expecting a baby this fall.

Over the summer, the couple announced that the new addition to their family, joining 10-year-old big sister Ella, would be a boy.

Now, Star magazine is reporting that the actor -- who is visiting Sydney, Australia, this week -- has revealed even more baby news.

Travolta, 56, and Preston, 48, have decided what they plan to call their newborn son when he arrives.

According to Travolta, the name will be Benjamin.

In the new interview, he says his wife is due to give birth in three weeks. Hopefully she won't go into labor early, as Travolta is down under celebrating the 90th anniversary of Qantas airline. The movie star and avid pilot reportedly flew his personal Boeing jet to Sydney for the occasion.

Before all the headlines about their baby-to-be, Travolta and Preston grieved privately following the shocking 2009 death of their 16-year-old son Jett due to a fatal seizure.

Preston did make a rare appearance at the Toronto film festival in September, telling People.com about the pregnancy, "It's been very easy and so wonderful. I've had no morning sickness and [the pregnancy] has gone by so quickly. I feel terrific."

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY. THEY ARE SO OLD TO BE DOING THIS BUT HEY IT IS THEIR LIFE. I WAS 40 WHEN I HAD MY LAST ONE AND I THOUGHT I WAS TOO OLD TO BE DOING THAT AGAIN, BUT IT SEEMS THESE DAYS WOMEN ARE HAVING BABIES LATER AND LATER IN LIFE..BUT STILL, SHE IS 48! THAT IS ALMOST 50 FOR GOD SAKE AND HE IS ALMOST 60 FOR GOD SAKE.....THAT JUST SEEMS CRAZY TO ME. I WISH THEM LUCK.

Age has nothing to do with anything. They are a very close & loving family. What more can a child ask for. I wish them all of the happiness in the world. Benjamin is such a beautiful, strong name. God Bless.

You're what people call a pessimist John turned 56 last February 18. so he is not ALMOST 60 what do you think these are the covered wagon dAYS when people were lucky to live to age 45? Grow up, old lady.

I married for the 2nd time when I was 47 I already had 2 children; but he had none. I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD THE MEGA BUCKS it would have taken to give my husband at least one child...........but I didn't. We are still happy...but that is my regret.

They should name the child Planes.

why should they? because you said so? If you were a nurse would you name your kid syringe or bedpan? If you were a gravedigger would you name your kid shovel or coffin? If you were an artist would you name your kid palette or stroke? Let THEM name their own kid thye do not need any suggestions and are not asking for suggestions.

If John is going to name his new son Benjamin, I think he should have a middle name Sidney. Or it could be James? Anyway, i think it's a blessing for the Travolta family. Jett would be very happy for his new sibling.

What difference does their age make? This child was very much wanted and will be very loved. I see far too many young women who are very impatient and unloving toward their children. Older people, who are financially stable and healthy, can be wonderful parents, and can give their children the love and stability that is so necessary for a child to grow into a successful, caring adult.
How many famous, successful people have been reared by loving grandparents who were parent figures? I can think of many!

Due to the age of the parents, the child could have health problems,namely downs Syndrome lets hope not.. And hopefully they will drop the scientology bs.. thats a dangerous cult for crazy people..

Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools named there newborn baby Petal Blossom Rainbow, their other children are named Poppy Honey and Daisy Boo. These people need to see a Psychiatrist. What ever happened to names like Susan, Jennifer, Lisa.
