For her first-ever music video, 'Britain's Got Talent' break-out star Susan Boyle offers a cinematic journey through stunning natural settings for her cover of rocker Lou Reed's 1972 classic 'Perfect Day' -- one of the tracks featured on her new album, 'The Gift,' in stores November 9. Directed by Reed himself, the video was a way of showing support for the Scottish siren after his not-so-favorable reaction over her version of his trademark track in September. Reed says of the project, "I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland and she quickly agreed." And that's just what he did. Expect sweeping shots of lush forests and gorgeous sunrises.
Boyle's second album, 'The Gift,' is a seasonal collection of songs including Christmas classics like 'The First Noel' and 'O Holy Night'.' Boyle herself says the music is meant to "touch hearts." "Music has always been a companion to me, particularly on special occaisons" Boyle explains. "I wanted there to be a mix of songs that would flow with all our moods this holiday season. As much as the season is a time for reflection, it is also a time for fun and enjoyment with those closest to us."

Thank you. Beautiful, incredible, breathtaking, gorgeous video. I've heard samples of the other songs on Susan's album "The Gift" and they are fantastic. I love Susan Boyle and will get all the albums she ever makes.

Susan's put on some lbs. Is she mentally ill???
Reply
No, she's not mentally ill, you are. Have you put on some nastiness in your life??? Looks like you're an addition to the bullying that has plagued her all of her life. You would be fortunate to be so talented and be such a beautiful person. I doubt that her weight really concerns your life or changes it in any way. I also doubt that you change anyone's life in any positive way - however, Susan changes lives - she rivals Barbra Streisand as the most talented female singer of the ages. She has a voice quality that is just magnificant. So happy that her life is soaring and that she shares her talent with the world.
I agree with Linda. What a disgusting thing to say. You should be removed from this post. It's people like you that keep her from advancing her career. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Such an interesting choice of songs, I liked it a lot.

I like Susan Boyle. I really like her voice. I really don't like this song or video. Lou Reed must be thrilled (sarcasm). Way, way, way over-produced. And I really don't like that they don't spend more than three seconds on her at a time. They keep editing away from her as if to say she isn't talented enough to hold the camera for more than three seconds. The vistas depicted are beautiful. I just wish they hadn't added all the strings and chorus to the song. Just let the woman sing for pete's sake.

Took the words right out of my mouth... Totally wasn't impressed by this song or production. Love Susan, though..
@Matthew, Since Lou Reed helped to produce it, then I'd say yes, he probably is thrilled with it.
I totally agree- too many of the songs on her CDs have the chorus and instruments over powering her voice. Way too over produced. Susan needs a producer/director capable of understanding her strengths and appeal. Let her sing!!
If you say so, Kathy. However, - he would not allow her to sing it on a recent show (I think it was Dancing With the Stars). Thought that was interesting.
Love the song but the video looks like a gloomy day.

Absolutely beautiful! Susan is stunning, the singing is out of this world, the song is beautiful and the scenery gorgeous! I love you, Susan.
