For her first-ever music video, 'Britain's Got Talent' break-out star Susan Boyle offers a cinematic journey through stunning natural settings for her cover of rocker Lou Reed's 1972 classic 'Perfect Day' -- one of the tracks featured on her new album, 'The Gift,' in stores November 9. Directed by Reed himself, the video was a way of showing support for the Scottish siren after his not-so-favorable reaction over her version of his trademark track in September. Reed says of the project, "I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland and she quickly agreed." And that's just what he did. Expect sweeping shots of lush forests and gorgeous sunrises.
Boyle's second album, 'The Gift,' is a seasonal collection of songs including Christmas classics like 'The First Noel' and 'O Holy Night'.' Boyle herself says the music is meant to "touch hearts." "Music has always been a companion to me, particularly on special occaisons" Boyle explains. "I wanted there to be a mix of songs that would flow with all our moods this holiday season. As much as the season is a time for reflection, it is also a time for fun and enjoyment with those closest to us."

Why did they have to screw up the video. All I got was snips of her singing. She has a beautiful voice. So what if she has put on a few pounds. A lot of us have. I also will buy anything she sings.
Way to go Susan. Where were you before? Yuo are the best you make my day

Susan Boyle is an awesomely talented singer Nooooo Doubt! I liked this version of the song. However, Lou Reed did this song better and if you really want to hear an even better version of this song. Listen to the collaberation by Lou Reed, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Bono and several others who got together and did a fantastic version of it. You will NOT be disappointed.

Her voice is absolutely stunning.
I don't care what she's singing as long as she's singing.

Thought this video was wonderful!

The lyrics are laughable... "Just a perfect day feeding animals in the Zoo. Then later a movie too... And then home." Really? Really? This is the best song they had for her? What's with the chorus? She has a brilliant voice and needs little to NO help displaying that. The cinematography was superb (it was the only reason I stayed till the end of the song) but overall this venture is an EPIC FAIL!

This song is about heroin addiction.... listen again.
Susan's voice sounds fantastic on this song and the video is quite lush. But like Matthew said, I'm not really big on the song or the video itself. "We had a perfect day then went home, and because you keep me hanging on you're going to reap what you sow." Huh? I'm not familiar with the context of the song, so maybe I'm missing a key element. I also think they could have done more with Susan other than have her just stand on a pier and stand in a forest. The best part of the video was all the beautiful scenery.

Susan Boyle has been an inspiration to me after I saw her on Britain's got talent. I saw what God can do through anyone. She has blessed me so and I wish Susan the very best. I have her CD with Dream on it and I play it over and over.

Susan is nearly magical but whoever it was who produced this cut needs to stop. It reminds me of all the country music of the seventies that was so over produced by Chet Atkins. In the case of country music it was alway kind of humorous to hear an army of strings and a huge chorus or choir behind a normally twangy vocal and sordid lyrics. However, Susan Boyle can really sing, so why drown her voice with so many layers of crap. Just a piano would be big plenty. I think it is what happens to performers who are innocent and unaware of what makes a good recording, self serving people walk all over them.

Totally agree - piano alone would have been great.
