'Dancing With the Stars' Seeking Same-Sex Couple

When the Israeli edition of 'Dancing With The Stars' confirmed it would feature its first-ever same-sex couple, the outpouring of media attention caught the eye of the producers of the American version. Now, sources tell me the US edition of the worldwide dance phenomenon is actively looking to do the same.

"The show is definitely looking for a trick for its next edition that will go up against 'American Idol,'" a 'Dancing' insider tells me. "What better than to have a same-sex couple dancing together? That would certainly get more press than even Jennifer Lopez could drum up."

It's true the show does know a thing or two about stunt casting. Learning from recent stars Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin, the producers have seen first hand how a casting controversy can bring in the viewers.

"Nothing would be as sensational as two beautiful women dancing together," a TV expert tells me. "Two men would be less accepted as two gorgeous ladies, that is why the producers' first choice is Portia de Rossi, who is married to Ellen DeGeneres."

Although Portia has not been approached yet with the idea, several sources close with casting tell me it's one name that keeps coming up over and over again.

"Portia is perfect because she is openly gay and happily married to her wife, who happens to be one of America's most loved celebrities," a source tells me. "She is not controversial like Rosie and would be an inspiration to gay teens throughout the country."

I think it's genius!

Helena you need to stop being judgemental and preaching hate. God love all and in the bible it says don't judge unless you want to be judged being gay isn't a sin. God preaches love not hate and I'm a good christian because I don't use the bible for hate unlike you Helena since your wrong preaching hate and being judgemental.

Dear poor Helena, You are so confused. The bible was written by a lot of folks high on hemp. If you are basing your opinions solely on this source, your going to need more education. Homosexuality is not a sin, sin is a misnomer. People are born as either gay or straight, it’s not a choice but a fact. Please try and catch up with normal society.

Helen you are so right God is still very much alive and the bible tells us that God hates the sin of homosexually,but He does not hate the homosexual. He is a just and loving God and read to forgive if we ask,yes even the gay person.

I do enjoy DWTS"s but will not watch it if they start having same sex couples on it. I just believe we have the right to choice what we watch .That is not my bag. I just hope they don't drop the show to that level it is a good show to watch just like it is.

Apparently Helena you forgot the part where we are told "judge not lest ye be judged" Wouldn't calling someone a bigot be considred as judging...perhaps you should consider he that is without sin cast the first stone...oh and if you say you are without sin then you have sinned since pride is one.

It is my understanding that a study done some five years ago showed that the brains of gay men/women and heterosexual men/women reacted differently to the same stimuli, and responded affirmatively to different stimuli. These brain reactions were not something that could be "chosen"--they are natural, automatic responses. The people who wrote the Bible, along with those who translated the Bible at various times, could not have known that. They wrote and translated according to the cultural biases of their times.
I daresay that you DO NOT follow all the rules as prescribed in the Bible. Are you silent in church? Do you submit yourself, ALWAYS, to your husband? Are you prepared for your husband to sell your daughter into slavery in a foreign country? Do you wear clothing of mixed fibers? Do you eat pork or seafood?

Interesting you ask.....Remember how just one night after Margaret Cho made her gay rant debut, she was voted off the show? The viewers of this particular show watch it to get AWAY from political statements, thus a same-sex couple will not go over well. And who would LEAD? Portia (who is the "wife" in her marriage), or the professional? What a world!
