Insider: Sarah Palin 'Obsessed' With Making Bristol a 'Dancing' Champ

Amazingly, Bristol Palin has hoofed her way through another week on ABC's monster hit 'Dancing With the Stars,' and it's not because of her less-than-stellar footwork, it's thanks to her famous mom's campaigning.

"Sarah is determined make Bristol the winner of the show. Whatever it takes," an insider tells me. "She's become obsessed with it, as if it were the election all over again, except this time a Palin will be the winner."

The former governor's determination is no secret and has caught the attention of many politically-minded sites, including The Daily Beast, which wondered this week if a vast right-wing conspiracy is underway to make sure Bristol stays put. The site points out that conservative activist and Palin supporter Tammy Bruce tweeted, "Operation Bristol waltzes in tonight! As #DWTS starts vote at abc.go.com Tweeps pls tweet phone info, will RT."

There's nothing like firing up Sarah's loyal fan base to keep her daughter dancing!

"Sarah is making it very clear that she wants Bristol to win," a show insider tells me, adding that Palin is tickled by the idea of taking votes away from the more "Hollywood liberal types" on the show.

"This is her chance to get even and show all those Democrats that a regular girl with conservative values and common sense" can win it all.

Just a few days ago, Sarah reminded her 295,942 Twitter followers what a great girl Bristol is. "From youth football team, shop class & commercial fishing to Final 5 on Dancing W T Stars, we're proud of Bristol's courage, grace & diversity!"

If this pro-Bristol campaign wins out, America just may see the mirror ball trophy in the White House someday!

I give Bristol a lot of credit for how she has progressed BUT she certainly has stayed past her time taking spots from other more deserving dancers. If Jennifer, Brandy or Kyle go home before her, then it will confirm there is a campaign going on.

I agree with the first writer! Keeping her on will ruin the show from now on. Sarah Palin is CHEATING! Just like her misspoken mouth about politics, she is full of crap. If a dsncers fan base sees fit to vote, fine, but to face book all republicans and ask them to support her just just she's "Palin's" daughter is definitely cheating.

I am so sick of the attacks on the Palin chick. They tore her mother apart during the campaign too - it was like Sarah was running against Obama instead of McCain.

Bristol can't dance but neither could Marie Osmond and look where her fan base got her. She will be in the top 3 with Jennifer winning and Brandy taking second, unless Jennifer flakes out again.

BTW this year they had a lot of crap dancing celebs which was fun, usually they have singers who can dance, like last years winner.

I'm not voting but I am glad Bristol is doing well, I think she really could dance if she would let go and bend her knees - she's to afraid of not pleasing people.... especially her mom.

So what if Sarah Palin's influence help her daughter win DWTS this is all about Sarah keeping her name in the media. Sarah does not mind exploiting her daughter for her own selfish wants and desires in life. Sarah cares only about Sarah. I actually feel sorry for Bristol as she can not change who her mother is.

Well, I for one have voted for Bristol. I think this article is a lie. I believe Sarah is just a proud mother of her daughter. And Bristol is not that bad. They always tell her that her footwork is perfect. I hope Bristol wins it all.

I can understand liking Bristol and not liking her mother, but she is a very poor dancer.
Obviously Bristol desires to be on tv and what mother who has the power wouldn't try to make that happen for her. I doubt that Sarah intentionally gathered votes for her daughter, but she certainly has the advantage over other proud parents being in the spotlight. Of course loyal fans of SP's will vote for her daughter regardless if they have seen the show or not. This just makes the system of voting flawed.

The bottom line is Bristol does not have dancing talent and if she wins it will sadly not be based on her dancing virtues.
