Despite Cyrus Affair Rumors, Bret Michaels Has a New Outlook on Life

Bret Michaels isn't letting rumors he broke up Miley Cyrus' parents -- Tish and Billy Ray -- get to him.

Michaels stopped by the PopEater offices to chat and told us he has a new outlook on life.

"I have a newfound, I should say super newfound, love of life," he explains.

Michaels also discusses what he's been up to since suffering a brain aneurysm last April, his triumphant recovery and winning 'Celebrity Apprentice.'

He is currently on tour, but is also keeping busy planning a 'Bret Michaels Rock of Love Cruise,' developing a new drink with ' Apprentice' boss Donald Trump and working with the American Diabetes Association (Michaels is a lifelong diabetic).

With his work with the ADA, he tries to "raise a lot of awareness and a lot money" for people afflicted with diabetes, and the money he makes is also used to send diabetic children to camp "to learn how to deal with it."

His new drink with Trump -- part Trop-a-Rocka, Bret's Snapple flavor, and part Trump Vodka -- will also be used to support the ADA. "Even if you party like a rockstar, I found a way to get money."

Being able to use his celebrity for good causes is part of the perks, Michaels believes. "If you can pay it forward, do it."

But what about the downside of fame -- including rumors that he broke up Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus? Brett says that it doesn't take away from the positive aspects of being famous.

"When you're in the public eye, you have to develop nerves of steel," he tells us. "It doesn't mean you have to like it. Rumors come up, rumors go away. If it's the truth, I'll address it and say, 'Look, it was me, I was stupid.'"

"If something comes up -- and I use the example of the Tish thing -- completely false, but it's juicy. Most times people say you're supposed to be innocent, but most people assume you're guilty," he adds.

"With things that come up in your life, I address them pretty head on," Michaels continues. "The good thing about being a musician and being in a band is that they expect you to be crazy and stupid, right? If you're Tiger Woods, you're in a lot of trouble."

"I say this to anyone who gets caught doing anything, just say you joined a band," he jokes.

He's a really slimy character, not to mention a poser. The mother of his children stands by his side through all of his medical problems and he chooses to disrespect her and his daughters with yet another installment of this insipid 'Rock of Love' nonsense? He almost dies more than once and he didn't gain any morality from it, instead he promotes alcohol? Ugh.

Read the article again, Bret is not promoting the alcohol, Donald Trump is, Bret is promoting the diet Snapple drink that him and his teammates on Celebrity Apprentice concocted which contains NO alcohol. Trump is donating the profits to the ADA.

He is being productive! He's a rock star so get over it! He's using the money to help kids with diabetis got to a camp that they can feel good about themselves and understand there disability. He's not serving it at the camp... Life is precious but so are our children. Keep up the totally awesome job Bret!!!

I can't undertsnad she sits by him after all these years , Rocks of love and now does a show with him about their now ''their love'' what the hell was she allowing all that and standing by when he was doing that show not just once and his girls , he has no respect for her or his girls, and now to do this new show to what show his love for them after showing that he couldn't have gave a damm and was looking for love, when it was there all along but he didn't care less. I'll tell you why she stands by him....this is the only way that he can make money. You have to admire the guy's drive to make money, take care of his family, and be productive. We don't have to agree with it, these are his choices, but he sure knows how to reinvent himself and be a winner. I mean, you do not think that he made major money with Posion, do you? And, there were very little follow up sales to his records over the years. A veyr small Asian or Euor secondary market for the band, but not major money. He found a way to make major money in his field, entertainment. His ways are not for me, or his music or his looks or attitude, but who cares? I admire him for being an entreprenuer, and a "go-getter," and a survivor. He supports his family in a way most men would not and could not do. The "wifey" who stand by him does so for a number of reasons, but one of them is is that she gets the game. Her choice.
