Two Gosselin Kids Expelled From School

In the midst of what's being called a "challenging time," two of Kate and Jon Gosselin's children have been expelled, PEOPLE reports. Collin and Alexis, both 6, are being home schooled after being asked to leave a private school in Pennsylvania.

Though there've been reports of violence and bullying at the school, a source close to the situation claims the children were not behaving as badly as claimed.

"The situation is being grossly overstated," the source told PEOPLE. "The kids are going through a challenging time, but Kate doesn't feel this is something that should be discussed publicly. It is a private matter."

This isn't the first time one of the Gosselin kids was expelled-one of the sextuplet girls was previously suspended for hitting a classmate, the New York Post reports.

Kate has previously stated that her divorce from Jon has caused the children stress and that they've suffered some difficult moments. But overall, she said her kids (twins Cara and Mady and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel) are handling the split ok.

"They're just amazing, resilient, loving kids," she told PEOPLE recently.

The expulsion news comes on the heels of Sunday night's TLC special, 'Kate Plus 8: Alaska Here We Come," which drew a disappointing 1.33 million viewers--much less than the almost 10 million viewers who tuned into the Gosselin drama last year.

This is just the begining of trouble ahead for these kids. They need a normal life, and it will have to start with Kate. TLC needs to cancel her shows, and try to let the kids live a normal life. Stop using the kids to make money.

I'm glad to hear the ratings for her show were way down maybe her 15 minutes of fame are up. I hope their 8 kids can recover from their parents life style and grow up normal

So true. Kate needs to get her lazy @ss off the couch hounding for fame and men and raise her kids. Kate can't seem to bother. She can't make it on TV without selling her kids to the media.

So true mw, What we need to do is show TLC what we showed the country in getting rid of the dems, get rid of kate and her unruly 8! She needs to go home and be a mom. 15 min are over kate, buh-bye

I think it is time for all reality television to take a good look at their shows. Are the children the ones benefiting or suffering? In this case they are suffering from a lack of real parents.

kate and John need to step up and be parents for thses kids and not be out trying to out HOLLYWWOD each other. They as parents make me sick . I feel bad for them kids They have been robbed a child hood big time and they will never get there child hoods back cause of these so called parents!!!

Kate needs to spend less time dancing with the stars and travelling with her MARRIED bodyguard and more time with her emotionally troubled kids. She gave birth to them...she needs to step up and take care of their needs!

The expulsion of any of the Gosslein children is no surprise since they have a mother who is a publicity hound and only cares about having the children be in front of a tv camera in order for mommy dearest Kate to make money and have her face in public at their expense. Jon is no angel, but if he as any feelings for them, he should put his foot down as to what he wants for his children to try and grow up as normally as possible, cause Kate certainly seems to care only about herself.

Oh please Joan. John can't put his foot down - he would have to have a pair and care enough about someone other than himself. Kate gets the bashing here, but everyone seems to gloss over John. She had 9 children when he was at home, and sadly she has to carry his load, too. As long as TLC has a show for them, she is going to do it. Once that stops? She will have to stop. Kate +8 has to run its course, and TLC is the starting point for that. I think she's made enough money for their futures and to start a business that doesnt involve showcasing her children. If anyone is to blame at this point, it's TLC for not having the decentcy to stop these sorts of shows.

Being expelled from school at this age is very serious; I hope TLC is insisting that some of the childrens' money is spent on child psychologists.
The rage and inappopriate words are surprising? Again, let TLC rerun the shows from the first episodes and we'll be reminded of "Mother Rage" (aka Kate). Even when those children were babies, I always believed that the presence of the camera crew prevented those poor children from receiving corporal discipline. This is also the reason these kids were "thrilled" to see the crew return! I no longer watch the show since Kate's spin doctors (aka TLC)have explained to her that she must appear warm and fuzzy; the viewers are not stupid.
When I read about the expulsions in the papers and on the internet, I sadly wasn't surprised. Kate will now have another reason to go off on vacation with her bodyguard, Steve, and figure out her next move. It's all about Kate...

Private schools have rules that aren't in public schools. In other words, it doesn't take much for them to keep your deposit and show you the door. I have lots of experience with private schools, and they typically overblow many situations due to money and appearances. Expelling a 6 year old is a failure on the part of the school, especially since nothing serious occured. Most states don't even hold children responsible for their actions until 8 to 10 years old. How pitiful do you have to be to not be able to handle a 6 year old? Seriously. If you can't handle a 6 year old, maybe you should close the school due to your own weakness.

If Alexis and Collin were expelled from school for being mean to other kids, I wonder where that behavior came from? Kate has always been bossy and condescending and, with her new found wealth and fame, has certainly developed a tremendous sense of entitlement. Her kids are being raised by nannies. I would guess the only time she interacts with her kids is when the cameras are rolling. These kids are headed toward big time emotional issues if their mother doesn't start putting them TRULY first....skip the tanning booths, hair salons and all the traveling. Be a REAL stay at home mom!

How about letting Jon share some of that blame and quit constantly crucifying Kate? They *both* could use a refresher course on parenting 101. It might be at her kids' expense, but at least Kate is providing for them financially.........if they had to rely on their loser father, they'd all be living under a bridge, eating Ramen noodles.
