Katy Perry performing at the Teen Radio AwardsKaty Perry wowed the teen crowd with her performance of her latest single, 'Firework,' at the inaugural BBC Radio 1 Teen Radio Awards in London. The sartorially adventurous singer wore a white latex gumball machine dress during her performance.

According to the Daily Mail, Katy gave the performance of the night. The singer started to cry as she took to the stage and said, "I'm allowed to be emotional. Thank you so much for supporting me in this song because it means so much to me."

Perry also presented the Teen Hero award to Connor Rowntree, 16, from Sunderland. Connor has undergone nearly 100 operations to deal with the severe burns he received in an accident and now fronts a fire safety campaign.

"The kids are so loud here at the Radio 1 Teen Awards. Loudest I think I've ever heard! This is gonna be amazing," Perry wrote on her Twitter.
