Nick Lachey Reacts to Jessica Simpson's Sudden Engagement

Mere days after Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo announced their engagement, Jessica Simpson and boyfriend Eric Johnson announced they too are tying the knot. But Lachey doesn't seem too bothered by the coincidentally close proposals.

"I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best," he told UsMagazine.com Monday during a conference call for his NBC singing show 'The Sing-Off.'

When asked about his own engagement, the former 98 Degrees singer opened up a little more. He revealed that the couple is "still basking in the glow" of the news. "I'm sure we'll get on the other planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience."

Simpson called Ryan Seacrest's radio show last week to say how happy she was about Lachey's recent engagement to Minnillo. "Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best," the singer said.

Lachey and Simpson exchanged vows in 2002 but split in 2005. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other," they said in a statement at the time.

Grady, yes let's look at what he lost: an insecure, overweight woman that is still brainwashed by her control-freak father. I think Nick is doing just fine. And the kennel remark, you just showed how immature you are. What's waiting for you at home? Probably a box of kleenex, some lotion and your daily porn emails.

EXCUSE ME? Jessica is far from overweight or insecure. She is a normal healthy weight. You need to stop believing everything written in the rag magazines.
As for Vanessa, she is gorgeous, I hope both couples will be very happy.
Like Jessica said "they have been over for a long time" ....everyone else including the media need to move on

amd53 I wish both couples the best. Although, i do think Jessica wanted the spotlight as well as her controlling father. Jessica lost a good man because of a parent and that is very sad. Anyway, again the best to both. p.s. Doesn't Nick look like Grant Show or is it just me?
