'Sarah Palin's Alaska' Scores Massive Ratings for TLC

'
Sarah Palin's Alaska' set a ratings record for TLC on Sunday night, notching 5 million viewers for the premiere, a number
Gawker calls "huge for cable."
The show, part reality TV, part documentary travel series, is an eight-parter following the omnipresent Republican showing off her native state.
"Some are calling the series a 2012 campaign ad," notes
The Hollywood Reporter, "while producer Mark Burnett [of 'Survivor' fame] has defended the show as 'completely non political.' "
Although TLC has recorded higher viewer counts -- hi, 10 million fans of 'Jon & Kate Plus Eight'! -- 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' wins the biggest premiere award by a mile.
And lest ye forget Bristol Palin's
continuing saga on tonight's 'Dancing With the Stars,' the 'Alaska' star's daughter told

I watched it - somewhat entertaining. But considering there is nothing else to watch on Sunday nights . . . Think I'll watch the rest of the series. Once again, there is NOTHING ELSE ON.

Who are you kidding? C'mon admit it......you loved the show.
Loved the Alaska show with the Palin family. Sarah is great, her Kids are sweet and NORMAL, and her hubby is a "Hunk", and means good looking and smart. Lov from this old grandma.

For the most part I thought it was a good show. Alaska is a beautiful state and I am looking forward to seeing even more of it with Sarah'a show.

340 million people live in the states.. and only 5 million repukes watched the show!! LOL... oh yea thats a real ratings winner!!

Repukes, my, my, aren't you clever. I've never heard that before (rolling eyes). Grow the h@ll up!
This just shows the right wing mentality. Their hero is a idiot that knows nothing about the real world

And you do? What "real" world are you living in?
Happened upon the show last night and enjoyed it for the most part. Since the show is called Sarah Palin's Alaska, I thought it would have been more of a Palin-guided tour of the state to showcase the natural beauty and resources of Alaska. Hopefully, subsequent episodes will have more outdoor adventures and less of what happens at the Palin home.

I would never vote for Sarah for Pres., because I don't I'm not in agreement with her politics, but I did enjoy the show last night. I can relate to her life - similar to where I grew up in N. WI. And, I was shocked to see her wearing the exact fleece vest that I own - purple with paisley embroidery with black fake fur collar by Bob Mackie purchased from QVC. She must be a QVC shopper!! Why not? They have very nice clothes!

I am a Republican but I did not care for Palin's reality show. I expected to see more action. It seemed to be all about her and I got really tired of listening to her high-pitched voice. I will watch it again but I was disappointed.

I can't for the life of me figure why all these people watch people they don't like...

It's like staring at a very bad car accident on the highway, you just can't help but look.
She's an opportunistic joke, but should inspire tourism to her home state.

Sarah Palin is a dynamic force, her ability to unite and organize the GOP is proof of that. Her energy was just what the party needed...no 'mistake' there, 'MAGOO'.
'idream2', perhaps the only reason YOU watched was to 'laugh at her', (that's a sad reflection on your mentality!), but, I seriously doubt FIVE MILLION viewers tuned in for that reason.
I never cease to be amazed that the Republicans are the ones labled as 'hate-filled' but it's the liberals (you know those bastians on 'women's rights) that get on blogs such as this and bash successful women into the ground, and it isn't enough to throw the politician under the train, they have to throw her children under there as well...pathetic. I can't help but chuckle when I read, or hear, some die hard liberal saying Sarah and Bristol need to be at home raising their small children...what a bunch of hypocrites! These are the same people that leaped to the defense of 'mothers' like Brittany Spears!
I'll be casting all six of my votes for Bristol and Mark tonight; she has shown improvement every week and deserves to be recognized for her hard work.
Now, as supportive as I am of the Palins, I think there a good, NORMAL family that love spending time with each other, fight, at times, just like MY family and YOUR family, have children that have SEX and get pregnant (let me see...that's happened MANY times in MY family, I'm sure it never happens in you good 'liberal' families, though ), and I think Sarah Palin is the absolute best personality to whip up enthusiasium for the GOP, I do NOT feel she would be, or is going to be, the nominee for the Republican party in 2012, but I sure am glad she's on our side!

It was just wonderful, beautiful pictures and no political agenda

Getting good ratings for her show was very predictable. Between her mentally challenged true-believers and the looky-loos tuning in to see a freak show or car accident, how could it not bee a ratings success?

you conservatives think only liberals dislike her. you
are totally wrong, many more repukes dislike her than
liberals, who see her as a benefit to them.
