'Teen Mom' Star Amber Portwood Caught Drinking?

'Teen Mom' mother Amber Portwood has been in hot water lately -- specifically for
allegedly abusing her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley -- but new photos of the underage Portwood could cause her even more problems.
The pictures, obtained by
Life & Style, show what appears to be the MTV personality drinking from a bottle of vodka at a party in her hometown of Anderson, Ind.

According to eyewitnesses, it didn't stop with alcohol. "She pulled out a bottle of pills," a source said.
"She said she needs to watch how much she drinks because she's on something," the source added.
Portwood recently lost custody of her daughter Leah, but many believe she's not doing much about it. "Frankly, it doesn't look like Amber's in any hurry to get Leah back," an insider explained.
Life & Style also reports that Amber is seeing multiple men, including Clint Yunker, a professional mixed martial arts fighter.

How do you think she ended up a "teen mom" in the first place............there are only three ways it happens...drugs, alcohol or stupidity......oh wait, all three are stupidity!!!!

The media should put the brakes on featuring this loser on magazine covers and t.v. shows. Why glorify teenager who screwed up and got pregnant? Having constant media attention will only entice vulnerable teens to go out and get pregnant, hoping they will earn appearance fees and/or land additional tv gigs. Grownups should write to the networks.

It has nothing to do with a teenager getting pregnant... It has to do with how the teenager reacts to their new lifestyle. I had my first at 17 and still graduated with honors from high school and have been going to college and continuously working a full time job. Instead of featuring girls like Amber who are consistently screwing up they should feature girls or guys even who take their situations and make the best out of them.... And learn from them. Better resources also need to be made available to kids before they get pregnant and after they get pregnant (if case may be).
I know that 'sex and the bad things' sell, but they should make some shows that show values or real parents and their struggles... Hell, make a show about me. LOL! I am a single mom, with three children. I work two jobs and go to nursing school. I get straight A's. I am a young mom, too. Show someone who is actually doing something with their lives and taking care of their children. And we wonder why our future society is going down the tube...

"Teen Mom" Amber most definately has some problems. She has lost her child, at least temporarily; she has significant anger management issues, and it appears she has gotten "famous" enough that she is followed by paparazzi.I only watch Teen Mom sporatically, but my question is, where are Amber's parents? Where are Gary's parents? I understand that this girl is....18 or so but some ADULT support might go a long way. When I see Amber and Gary on TV, the first thing I think of is that they are playing house with a actual child.
I was also concerned by the amount of weight Amber dropped in a seemingly quick period of time. She didn't just lose "baby weight".
Basically, Amber needs some therapy, soon. The next person she loses her temper with could be her child. Some adult guidance, be it with one of her parents, a mentor, Child Protective Services has programs that can set these things up. She also needs to accept she has a problem and take responsibility for her actions.
As I recall, the medication she was on was for anxiety; you don't want to be mixing that with alcohol. She's not going to learn how to be a good mother if she's out drinking.
I feel very strongly about this because I dealt with this situation personally with my younger sister, and I am now her child's legal guardian and am in the process of adopting my nephew, because my sister was found to be unfit by the courts, basically due to her ongoing drug and alcohol addictions. I counsel young mothers and try to give as much support as possible. Thats what these girls need.

I havent owned a T.V. since 2005, mostly due to the fact that the programs offered sucked. As I read these articles on such gems as Jersey shore, Bad Girls, The Apprentice, and now this... I cant help but wonder why Americans will pay to see these morons live their pathetic lives. Are things really so bad that these shows offer an escape? They seem more like punishment to me.

What if this was your daughter? What if this was about your grandchild? What is wrong with us grown ups? We are acting like 2 year olds, yet we expect so much more from our children.
Sad so very, very sad.

Why are we surprised that she is drinking?
MANY of us have had alcohol prior to the age of 21, and many of our teenagers and even college kids who aren't of age yet, STILL manage to consume and obtain alcohol.
Let's not point the finger, at her, she's only guilty she got caught. But even our own "innocent" teens can be guilty of the same thing.
