Report: Tony Danza Yells At Priest During Funeral

Funerals are never easy for anyone, but on Nov. 11, Tony Danza was apparently very tense at the ceremony memorializing writer Philip Carlo. In the middle of the eulogy, a dissatisfied Danza allegedly flipped out on the priest at the Peter C. La Bella Funeral Home in Brooklyn, a witness told the
New York Post.
"Tony, who was one of Carlo's closest friends, walked right up to the priest and said angrily, 'Excuse me, but this is not about you. It's supposed to be about my friend, and if you can't do that, maybe you should let someone else speak!'" the source claimed.
According to the report, the priest was a substitute from a federal prison and was visibly disturbed by Danza's outburst.
"People were stunned, while the priest was visibly shaken," the source said. "He tried talking about Carlo before quickly wrapping things up. Danza took over and eulogized Carlo with memories from their younger days."
Guests included big names like Mickey Rourke, Chuck Zito, Danny Aiello and John "Cha Cha" Ciarcia.
Carlo died of Lou Gehrig's disease on Nov. 8 at age 61. He was best known for his bestselling biographies of mobsters and killers, including Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez and Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski.

First off Tony Danza is the most self absorbed moron in enetertainment. Why can't he just sit back and realize he is the luckiest no talent jerk on the face of the earth, except maybe for Jimmy Fallon!! Secondly the poll above that says 63% of the respndents are EXCITED about the prince and his future princess getting married show me cleary how someone like Obama could have been elected!!

Death of a friend, loved one, family member, etc. can make some of us emotionally frail. I'm not condoning what Tony Danza did but I feel that I DO understand that he did this spontaneously. It was a knee jerk reaction. Wasn't planned. Wasn't intentional. He was probably just overwhelmed over the loss. If / when he apologizes I sincerely hope THAT story gets similar coverage.

How dare that dirt bag Danza yell at a member of the clergy when he is trying to give a funeral ?
This is way out of line.
It may have something to do that Tony is a closet gay as per what I was told .
I was told he has batered his wife and boyfriends in the past and was addicted to herion as a teen.
He should judge no one !!!!
I hate that puke !!!

I thought Kenye was the only entertainer stupid enough and bad mannered enough to jump on stage and yank someones mic and spout off his opinion but I guess not. I forgot about how rude Tony Danza is. He just had to get his(probably)last 15 minutes of fame. He couldn't even let a dead man get his turn as the center of attraction. Maybe if the preacher had announced that Tony Danza was in the audiance and had him stand so everyone could see him, he would have let the man preach the funeral without the interruptions. And oh!!! Heather, many people have the funeral in the Mortuary Chapel now because they have to pay extra for the Mortuary to take the body to the church and for the extra time it takes. The mortuary has a nice chapel so unless you are a member of a Church there is really no point in transporting the body to the church.

As a liturgical musician who has been a part of many funerals for the past 25+ years there is one basic fact. Funerals are for the LIVING and not the deceased. If the funeral Danza was attending was a Catholic rite then the priest was not out of line in his sermon. Eulogies and storytelling are reserved for the funeral home or the after service. The priest is there to help reinforce the faith and beliefs of those in attendance. He should mention that the deceased has earned his reward with a job well done on earth which will hopefully one day be our reward also and that we will meet again. Danza was out of line.

Tony just removed all doubt, now everyone knows for sure he is an idiot.

I agree that a funeral service should eulogize and be a celebration of life. I had a similar experience, where the priest talked all about himself and said next to nothing about the deceased. I was shocked.

Everything is not wrong or right!!! At a funeral the loved ones need to make sure their feelings and thought of the departed get expressed then and there!! Tony will probably leave this earth with regrets but this may not be one of them.

Mr. Danza exhibited a sad lack of manners. Anyone who attends a funeral service should be there to support the family. I can't imagine anything more rude than having a guest yelling at a priest. My sympathies go out to the family for having to contend with a spectacle like this during a time of mourning.

Who makes these "rules" for funerals and weddings, anyway? Weddings should be planned per the couples wishes. And, who says what, at funerals/services should be up to the family. The heck with these so-called "rules."

If Tony yelled at the priest he needed it then enough said!!!

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. But what can you expect from a tantrum throwing "it's all about ME" narcissist Hollywood HAS BEEN brat.

Good for him! Someone who didn't know my mother spoke at hers. Didn't know anything about her. Had I been brave I would have done the same thing, but I was young and scared back then. He stood in reverence of that person and wanted HIM to be remembered. Obviously the priest didn't know him.

I believe Danza was rude and disrespectful!! What makes him think he was so much more important than anyone else? What does he think he is? He should have checked his ego at the door and use some respect for another human being. Down with Danza!

Tony just can`t stop talking, just like everyone said about his show Teach, kids all said he just talks to hear himself talk. Take a hint, everything is not about YOU!!!!!

Until you've been in Tony's shoes, don't judge. Service, wake, catholic, or otherwise, the priest, pastor, or any person eulogizing should have the courtesy to know who they are speaking about. I unfortunately lost a loved one a while back and during the service, held at a funeral home, a priest was asked to speak as our beloved was a very devoted catholic. Not only did he mess up his info, her name was Elaine, which he said correctly the first time but then continued to subsequently refer to her as Eileen, he also tried to condemn everyone in the room to hellfire and brimstone without even knowing any of us. It was terrible and heartbreaking especially for her immediate family.

Sounds like a real douche bag to me!
