Insiders: If Bristol Palin Wins, 'Dancing' Is Ruined

At first, having Bristol Palin participate in 'Dancing With The Stars' seemed like a brilliant idea. Just like Kate Gosselin before her, casting an admittedly bad dancer who was shrouded in controversy has raked in big ratings and tons of press. But now the joke is on the show's producers, as they fear Bristol is actually going to win this thing.

"This will be a disaster for the show if Bristol wins," one TV insider tells me. "Any creditability the show had will be over. It will go from being a dancing competition to a popularity competition where whoever has the most rabid fan base will always win no matter how little talent they have."

And while it's true Bristol's dancing has dramatically improved since the season began, no one with working eyes would put her in the same league as the other remaining stars, Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey.

"Another problem the producers foresee is that after Bristol wins no one in Hollywood will ever want to be on the show again," a well-placed ABC source tells me. "Why would a real star want to compete and lose against someone like [former U.S. Senate candidate] Christine O'Donnell or Levi Johnston. It's humiliating. The producers know they are in big trouble for sure."

And it's not just future contestants and viewers that the show needs to worry about. A friend of one of the judges tells me Bristol has made a fool out of all of them. It's now painfully obvious that the judge's scores and opinions mean nothing.

Let's hope they are all wrong and next season the show gets back to what it does best, dancing.

I didn't know Dancing With the Stars had any credibility to begin with.

Wait.... "Dancing With the STARS"....... Can someone tell me why Bristol "Thunderhip" Palin is a star? Did she sing, make movies, have a TV series (her self-home video doesn't count)? Politicians are NOT considered stars. Wait, she's not a politician either. Then what the hell?

Regardless of who wins, we watched our last show on Wednesday. Why should we waste our time any longer on such a farce? Time to pack it in when you lose all credibility.

This show has ALWATS been a popularity contest. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with dancing ability. People seem to like Palin. Young people who watch the show are probably voting for her because they can relate to her. Credability...just like Pastafarian says...didn't know DWTS had any! Get over it people! The reality is talent has nothing to do with it...it is a popularity contest!

I agree wholeheartedly. Tuesday night was the last time I will watch DWTS. The show has lost all credibility when they decided to add Bristol to the cast. SHE IS NOT A STAR!!! Her only claim to fame was having a child out of wedlock, as thousands of women have done. Why have judges? This a televised popularity contest with a little dancing thrown.

I stopped watching this show last year with Kate Gosselin. But I have to tell you part of the fun of the show was seeing which star could out dance all the others. Now with Bristol winning, I can tell you I WOULD NEVER watch it again... The adventure of the show is dead. Politics and Palin see to destroy so many things. Why can't they stay out of tv shows....

Yeah, well....so let it die then. Serve's the creators and producer's right. They thought they'd take advantage of Palin and now they're being taught a valuable lesson. Hope Hollywood dies with it.

I agree, but I will go with that from another slant. Having BRANDY on DWTS is credibility killer (of course they had no credibility to begin with). Because as a pop/r&b snger dancing is a part of her profession. In ther words Brandy is a pro.

I didn't know it either... What happened to the good ole programs of yester-years? Why is it that any tv station you turn it to, all you see are reality tv shows (Survivor, American Idol, Jersey Shores, Big Brother, et al). It's such a disappointment.

SO true Bristol is not a star. Bristol can't dance. Sarah Palin's people sandbagged the vote. They should change the show to "Popularity on the streets." I will never watch that show again.
