Daniel Radcliffe Lied About Dating for 10 Years

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the title character in the immensely popular 'Harry Potter' movies, told Harry Smith on 'The Early Show' that he's been lying to people for ten years about his personal life.

Radcliffe told Smith in a sit-down interview yesterday that he often lies about his dating life when asked about it. A clearly amused Radcliffe offered Smith a mock apology, and when asked if he is single now, the actor replied, "I could say yes and be happily single, but I'm going to say no. Because I'm not."

Radcliffe may have been talking about Olive Uniacke -- the stepdaughter of David Heyman, a producer of the 'Harry Potter' films -- who was seen with him in August. According to the Daily Mail, he even invited Uniacke to accompany him on a trip to Russia to celebrate his 21st birthday. The pair were also spotted smiling and laughing as they strolled shops near Radcliffe's West London home.

Despite having a huge female fan following, Radcliffe has had only one known girlfriend, Irish actress Laura O'Toole. The pair met in November 2007 while performing in 'Equus' in London's West End, but the relationship later fizzled out.

Radcliffe also speculated on whether J.K. Rowling would write more 'Harry Potter' books, saying he's 99% sure she would not, but should more books come out, he wouldn't likely play Potter in any more films because 10 years is a long time to play the same role. Get more at TV Squad.

Personally I could care less if he is dating or not. The fact is, everybody I know loves him as an actor and his private LIFE Should stay just that, PRIVATE. he is good at what he does and that is what matters to me and my children.

I like the three main actors in Harry Potter, and some of the other's, But not Malfoy and his pack, he has done that roll so well I'd love to smack him. But just because the first actors don't want to do more HP, there are other actors out there I'm sure that would LOVE to get that roll, a good writer can do SO much more with that story line now that the kids are grown and out of school, this story line can be as good as Merlin, maybe even better because there are 4 friends (I don't remember that blond young lady's name)that are good witches and their little elves friends...my mind is just spinning with story lines and I am NOT a writer. I am sure there is some talent out there that can do a good story line here! Please don't just leave us high and dry--just hanging us out to dry so to speek, Harry Potter MUST go on!!

That statement I don't agree with. He is entitled to his privacy, just as you or I are. If he's walking down the red carpet, then he can expect to be photographed and asked questions. If he's in his private home doing private things, then he can and should expect it to be private. Who he would choose or not choose to date is his business. If he's gay, that's his business not the rest of the world's. His sexual orientation does not interfere with his acting roles.
