Russell Simmons on Kanye's Apology to W: 'Why Do That S**t?'

When Russell Simmons and the gorgeous cadre of ladies that work and star with him in his reality show,
'Running Russell Simmons,' stopped by
'Naughty But Nice With Rob,' you know I had to ask him about Kanye West, who recently apologized to President George W. Bush for past comments. Russell was none too pleased with the star's mea culpa and said the star was just saying what everyone was thinking.
"I'm a little bit disappointed that he apologized to George Bush. I felt like, why do that s**t?" Russell told me. "Kanye says things that people think but don't always get to say, so when he says 'George Bush don't like black people,' it was what millions of Americans thought and felt."
For more on what Russell has to say about Kayne, President Obama and why women can run his life better than men, tune into
'Naughty But Nice With Rob' airing Saturday at 1:00pm and 7:00pm only on
HDNet where we are already a hit. How do I know? Just ask the big wigs at the network.
"HDNet is thrilled with the success of 'Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter,'" said Jeff Cuban, Executive Vice President, HDNet. "We knew we had a hit on our hands when we signed Rob, and after seeing the show, we were sure that our audience would love him too! Right out of the box, his exclusive interviews with Danielle Staub of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' and Angelina from 'Jersey Shore,' were a huge hit and we're looking forward to a long and successful relationship with Rob."

The thing is that at the time of Katrina, Bush was the president and therefore the face of the United States. Remember, “The Buck Stops Here”? It’s sad, but the whole matter was mishandled at every level of government. And whether we want to admit it or not, there is a lingering stench of racism. =(

Russell is full of him self too. Kayne and he, should go buy their selves an island to live on, so they can pat each other on the backs and tell each other how great they are.
Katrina was simply handled wrong, and Bush admitted it.
Everyone held their breath, waiting for the government to help the people there. Everyone, not just the ones in the storm, everyone.

I don't think Kanye should have apologized either. Although what he really should have said is that George Bush doesn't care about "poor" people. That's what it's really all about folks. People in power, especially Republicans...rarely care about poor people.

Everyone is forgetting one thing about What went wrong with how it was handled. The Gov. had to ask or permit the National Guards in. Without that, they could only go in UNARMED. How effective would they have been with everyone running wild? The Gov refused help from GWB several times then had to think about it one more day before she said OK. Want to blame someone, blame LA's great Governor...

GW Bush doesn't LIKE POOR PEOPLE! So technically he isn't racist so much as an elistist A hole. Some thing Kanye and Russell are also guilty of.
