Lindsay Lohan's 'Inferno' Role Goes Up in Smoke

She's working on her sobriety at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., but will
Lindsay Lohan be working in Hollywood when she leaves rehab?
If she is, it won't be on the biopic 'Inferno.' Lohan is no longer in the cast, according to director Matthew Wilder, despite his previous willingness to accommodate his fallen star (who famously visited Cannes to promote the film) and keep her on what he once called "our movie."
The 'Inferno' director now tells
E! that his team is moving on: "We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard...We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support...Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her, and some other issues, have made it impossible for us to go forward."
Lohan, 24, was cast in the heavy-hitting role of troubled '70s porn star Linda Lovelace in 'Inferno' before she flamed out in her personal life by flunking a drug test in September, resulting in court-ordered rehab (where she's required to remain until Jan. 3). And fans know the actress, whose need for income was recently documented in court records, was counting on the movie to relaunch her shakier-than-ever career; she hasn't starred in a feature since 2007's 'I Know Who Killed Me.'
Her rep has confirmed: "Lindsay is dedicated to her recovery and together they decided to move forward without her."
The decision may have been made during the starlet's recent furlough from rehab. Last week, Lohan was granted
permission to leave Betty Ford for a weekend visit to her West Hollywood home, and she reportedly sought the "day pass" in order to meet with Wilder about the film. She also met with her father during her hours away from her treatment program, but chaos ensued when (according to
Michael Lohan) Dina Lohan insisted that he be escorted from the premises of their daughter's apartment by security.
Dina has claimed rehab is making her daughter "a different person." Let's hope it also makes her a person who will take the bad news about 'Inferno' in stride.

IF the staff @ her Rehab faility are doing their job correctly then by this time they have made the girl aware of the fact that she has healthy "choices/options" in her life. Her focus should be on self preservation/stopping self destruction/learning how to be responsible to herself and for herself. She has been pimped out by her Mother...sucked dry by Hollywood vultures and exploited from what age 10? I can only imagine the "horror" stories she could tell about being a "hot property" in Hollywood from age 10. Her Mother basically emotionally abandoned that girl and has used her (and her younger sister) to make herself well off financially and well known in the media.I hope that L.L. has astute...tough....experienced mentors at rehab who can help her see her self worth. AND to all you negative haters America LOVES the underdog and if and when she decides it is time to raise herself out of the ashes and reclaim her career I guarantee she will do it. Look at Robert Downey Jr. He FINALLY got it through his head that he was a worthwhile human being......yes it took a smart judge sending his a** to State prison for a stint BUT take a look at him NOW:):) The thing about L.L. is that she is gifted..beautiful...and she has that "watchable" quality on screen. She just needs to be surrounded with human beings that will not exploit..use...abuse...and then abandon her.

It's good to see that the director is making a decision for her that she is incapable of making for her own good. I hope she's kept under wraps for a long, long time. Take away her means and she'll have no choice but to grow up!

Sorry but she deserves it...there are sooo many of us just struggling everyday to put food on our tables, and this person just throws around her millions like pennies....makes me sick!!!

she can't win. if no one hires her and her career is really over, that would push her back to drugs.

She is a talented lady and has done more then any of you. I guess people to enjoy kicking someone when they are down. She will be back and she is growing up.
