Video: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Comes to Terms with His Shocking 'DWTS' Elimination

Maksim Chmerkovskiy appears to have come to terms with his shocking elimination from 'Dancing With the Stars' along with partner Brandy. On 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated), he refused to slam the surprising vote or America's decision to put Bristol Palin in the finals. Instead, he asked viewers to keep watching the dance competition despite a recent flurry of criticism.

"It's all good," Chmerkovskiy said. "It's my job right now, my duty, to make sure that people don't turn off, because there's a lot of negativity, a lot of negative emotion. We got a lot of love and support from our fans, but I need to stay true to what I want, and I want dancing on TV. I don't want there to be any sort of scrutiny about the show."

Chmerkovskiy also tried to put the elimination in perspective, saying that he and his partner are fine. "Brandy's okay. I'm okay," he said. "The world has not come crashing down because we got eliminated."

I also believe, that the white powder came from Sarah, because she likes drama. I do not need Maksim to tell, to stop watching the show, I did it on my own. I think the teabaggies are at fault. Never again DWTS for me.

I think that the judges are part of the problem also! Like Max said, you give tie scores to someone for "heart". Yes Bristol has really improved, but I don't think she deserved the scores that the judges gave her.

They (judges) play favorites. I have noticed that they will really praise people, then they give them those very low scores. They say things that influence voters votes.

Max makes me want to watch dancing with the stars. He is sexy, sexy, and can move his body so darn good. I doubt ther are few women out there that don't love him and his booty. He speaks the truth and no one likes the truth, unfortunately.

He's saying what the producers want him to say. Those contracts have plenty of clauses that protect the show itself. His choice was either speak your mind and get sued or say what WE want you to say. Regardless, hope Max tells them to SHOVE IT in the long run.

What else is maksim going to say. It is his duty and probably the producers want him to respect the show if he ever wants to dance again. If I have know what a terrible dancer I was, I would have stepped down by now. Either saying my leg is bad or I broke my ankle but something. The audience is not stupid and believe me the ratings will go down. Change the format at the end. 70% judges and 30% phones calls for the last 4 contestants.

I quit watching DWTS a couple of elimination shows ago because I could see where this was going. On top of which, I finally decided to stop taking the whole thing so damn seriously. I have other things to do.

Or maybe people could not vote for Maks. I tried repeatedly on my cell and land line and was told my call could not go through. Easy way to keep who the network wants. They think all this is good for ratings, but it has just turned me off to the show.

Same thing happened to me, i tried throughout the entire show using redial to vote and never once got through. Busy busy busy. I was trying to call in for Jennifer and Derek. It makes me really angry that people say Jennifer had prior dancing experience. What? One movie all those years ago? She is not Cynthia Rhodes. So Jennifer did one movie. Oh yeah, there's a whole lot of dancing experience there. BFD. And with all her injuries, no one has said how she manages to put on a lovely performance in spite of the pain she is having. Lets just focus on the Palin kid, because thats what her mommy wants us to do! More drama for the Palins!!! I'm disgusted.

They were in the bottom 2 because Maks defended himself and his partner from that moron Carrie Ann. She always attacks Maks and loves to nit pick. Had she said her peace and left it at that, he wouldn't have felt he was being attacked. Do your job Carrie Ann and judge the dance, not the routine. I didn't hear you say anything about Mark and Bristol's stupid Gorilla routine.

I will never watch this show again. The best dancers are being voted off because of the fans of a contestants MOTHER for goodness sake. Let Bristol win, I hope the show gets cancelled because of the high jacking by the Tea Baggers.

I am sure that the big wigs from the network warned him to cool it and not fan the flames of anger about this decision. If people get mad enough and think that the show is a farce, then this DWTS money maker will fall from the top of the charts. He as no choice but to change his tune. ( I was just as mad as he was!!!)

how will she feel when she wins and every american thinks it was fixed (which it was )she can show her face here anymore i guess she has to see and for momma alaska you only can see the white house from your window that is as far you ever will be
