'Fantastic Four' Almost Made Jessica Alba Quit Acting

In early November, Jessica Alba made headlines for her controversial interview with Elle Magazine for its December issue, saying "good actors never use [scripts]." This agitated screenwriter John August, provoking him to bash her on his blog. But now the rest of the interview has leaked, and it gets a whole lot worse.

The extended interview with Alba, posted on jessicaalba.net in PDF form, reveals that Alba contemplated quitting acting during the filming of 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.'

"[The director told me] 'It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.' He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.'"

That questionable bit of direction set Alba to a bad way of thinking. "I'm like, 'But there's no connection to a human being.' And then it all got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don't want me to be a person? Am I not allowed to be a person in my work? And so I just said, 'F**k it. I don't care about this business anymore.'"

Alba goes on to state that one reason some of her movies have underperformed at the box office: "First-time directors."

While I won't argue that the directors she has worked with have been so,ewhat less than stellar, no one told her that she had to do movies like Good Luck Chuck or The Love Guru, no one put a gun to her head and made her take those paychecks. And none of this change the fact that she can't act her way out of a paper bag. Her breakout role was playing a robot, maybe she should go back to playing those. I can definitely believe her as a robot . . . albeit a wooden one.

Who knew she was acting all this time? That's right, it must be those rookie directors' fault for her lack of talent. Stay home, who'd notice?

I've never gotten the impression that Jessica Alba was the sharpest knife in the drawer, neither is she the first name that pops into my head when I think of a great actress.

While she is beautiful, there is nothing particularly extraordinary about her. If she left acting, she wouldn't be missed.

Quit acting? Wouldn't she have to do something before she can quit? I have never confused her with Meryl Streep or Katherine Hepburn.

Who cares if the no talent puke quits acting? I hope she never works again.

She has no talent what so ever.

I was told she is addicted to pain pills and used to be a dancer at a nude club.

It was written she had a abortion at age 16. If this is true she is is just disgusting. Please advise me.

She sucks at acting and should quit. When I watch her movies I feel embarressed for her, It's a train wreck. She needs to go into a different buisness.
