In a scene reminiscent of Michael Moore's political satire 'Canadian Bacon,' Canadian crooner Michael Bublé has warned all Americans that his country is planning a take over of their nation.
"I've said it before and I'll say it again, but there's something happening [in Canada] that you guys don't talk about because you don't know, but I'll break it to you: While you guys are sitting, getting fat, us Canadians are ready to take over," he joked with reporters backstage at the American Music Awards. "We're plotting: We've got me, [Justin] Bieber, Celine [Dion], Alanis [Morissette] ... Nickelback is very strong, Tragically Hip and Jim Carey -- all coming for you."

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! Arrogance is never attractive, no matter who displays it. "One never regrets a gracious response."

It is always so shockingly disappointing to me when an artist or performer insults and alienates the fans that pay good money to see/hear him or her. I will no longer be purchasing anything from this performer. Oh, and Justin Bieber? WHO CARES? If you are not a teenage girl, you have probably never heard any of his "music". These are the best examples of reasons for a Canadian takeover that he could think of? Seriously?

Really? Lighten up everyone...he's joking.

Hello....He was joking "he joked with reporters backstage at the American Music Awards."....if you watched the video, he was laughing, the reporters were laughing. WTF people, get a life. He's a great singer, entertainer. If you don't like how he sings, don't listen....just like I don't listen to Bieber.

For heaven's sake! Doesn't Michael Buble know by now that not everyone "gets" our unique brand of Canadian humour? It was a joke people! A bad, rude joke, but a joke none the less. Plus Buble should know better--Americans take just about everything as a challenge and rise to it. I expect nothing less than all negative posts about Buble's poor attempt at humour and I'm sure he'll issue an apology in short order.

BTW I would be totally remiss if, as a Canadian, I didn't take the opportunity to sincerely apologize to the world for Justin Bieber. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about... I expect he will be knee deep in scandal very soon. He's 16-year old diva in training. Ugh!

Can't you Americans take a joke? He was joking around! And personally i thought what he said was hilarious! Get your attitudes checked and see if you have one funny bone in you're body. But just to warn you I don't think you'll find one. And just because Michael Buble made a JOKE about Americans doesn't mean you have to start hating him.

Calm down Americans, seriously! I've watched quite a few tv shows, where they make fun of Canadians - "How I met your mother" does it all the time. Seems like its ok to dish it out but they can't take it in return.
To Josh: Do some research, there are a lot more that 3 Canadians entertaining our countries.
Peace!

Get real people,now we are getting sensitive about fat jokes;
Yes Canada has great artists,but so does America and if you would of watched the whole interview you would of known it was a joke.
And get this people,
both Americans and Canadians are getting fat and this is not a joke but a sad reality;deal with it!

Excuse me but not ALL Americans are offended by his "joke" because if they ALL were this response to this would be endless. It is true that some Americans would be offended by his "joke" because it is in America that he makes his money and as Americans they have the right to express their feelings as to whether they thought his "joke" was funny or not. Me? I don't really care what people say about Americans because I know for a fact that a GREAT many Americans are the first ones called on when it is time to defend other countries. I guess I just hate generalizations; there are countless wonderful people in the United States as well as in Canada; just as there are some not so wonderful people in both countries. Btw, I can speak about both countries because I am an American who lives in Canada with her Canadian husband.
