After watching Betty White land a 'Saturday Night Live' hosting gig after an online grassroots campaign, many other celebrity hopefuls tried to launch campaigns of their own. But perhaps the biggest star to give it a go is none other than Sesame Street's own Cookie Monster. Cookie Monster launched a viral video Tuesday hoping to convince audiences and 'SNL' execs that he'd make a great host. His video features a full audition for the live comedy show including an opening monologue, sketches and a musical guest--Cookie Gaga. And it's pretty funny.
Some highlights of the fabulous audition include a stunning performance of 'Cookie Face' by Cookie Gaga, a hilarious 'MacGruber' knockoff called 'Macarooner' and Cookie Monster screaming, "Live From New York, It's Saturday Night!"
See the audition after the jump.
