Emmy Rossum and Adam Duritz Split

Emmy Rossum is single again. The actress admits she and Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz actually split up two months ago.

"We're still very close friends," Rossum tells USA Today.

The 'Shameless' actress says her relationship with Duritz began, oddly enough, on Twitter. "I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter," Rossum said during a 2009 interview on Valentine in the Morning. "That's how we met -- on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I'd never sung before ... So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun."

The pair started dating on the tour and soon they were spotted in public. Rossum split with her husband, Justin Siegel, in August 2009.
