Could Kim Kardashian Face Legal Issues For Sketchers Deal?

Kim Kardashian is a jack-of-all-trades and, considering her myriad endorsement deals, the girl has never met a product she couldn't sell.

However, it seems as though her latest venture is familiar territory. The reality star, whose book 'Kardashian Konfidential' hits shelves today, recently inked a deal to promote Skechers Shape-Ups despite previously reporting her allegiance to competitor Reebok's EasyTone shoes.

PEOPLE reports that, at a Los Angeles press conference to announce her Skechers endorsement deal, Kardashian said of the shoe, "I honestly would wear them just all around the hotel. The fact that I would feel something without even having to set foot on a treadmill just made me feel better."

Despite her gung-ho endorsement of the Skechers shoe, Kardashian was singing a similar tune about Reebok's footwear just over a year ago.

She wrote on her official site, "Kourtney, Khloe, my mom and I went to a very cool Reebok party the other day. It was the launch party for Reebok's Easy Tone shoe's... [B]asically it works your leg and butt muscles as you simply walk...We wore them all night!"

Bill Goldsmith, a Los Angeles-area business lawyer, says: "From a legal standpoint, if there's nothing in her contract with Reebok keeping her from endorsing other products, even those that directly compete with ones she's previously endorsed, she's free to lend her name to the Skechers campaign."

While we aren't privy to the specifics of Kim's contract, at the very least, her flip-flopping may weaken the appeal of her future endorsements.

Never bought anything because of who was endorsing it. If the girl can make a few bucks saying she wears somebody's product then power to her. I do think you have to have someone of substance advertise a product (like Michael Jordan) to have any effect.
