Angelina Jolie Refuses to Celebrate Thanksgiving, Thinks It's a 'Story of Murder'

While everyone is preparing to give thanks tomorrow, one of America's most famous families, the Jolie-Pitts, have decided to sit this Thanksgiving out.

"Angelina Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans," a friend of the actress tells me. "To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn't her style. She definitely doesn't want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder."

Angelina has been filming her directorial debut, about a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love during the Bosnian War. Angie, always extremely sensitive to the suffering throughout the world, is filming in English and the native languages.

"Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday," an insider tells me.

And although Brad Pitt recently told 'EXTRA,' "We'll whip up a turkey somewhere," he certainly hasn't shared that plan with Angelina. A family friend tells me, "If Brad wants turkey, he will have to cook it himself. For Angie, it will be another day when America tries to rewrite history."

I agree with Greg. And I believe that it's about time we quit dredging up issues of the past and do more now, in the PRESENT to get along and understand one another. The settlers came. PERIOD. Underneath it all we're all human beings with faults; colour of your skin is like the colour of your house - NO ONE is perfect!

If Jolie really believes that this is what Thanksgiving represents, then she is an idiot and unable to let go of the past and look at what's right in front of her. It's about giving thanks for what life has given us and the blessings bestowed upon us and our family and friends, not MURDER!

Hey Victoria Dip Wad .... that is not what the holiday was originally about and here goes, I'm gonna say it for all you very moral, good christian people out there.... SHE'S RIGHT and even if she wasn't she's as entitled to her opinions as you all are even though you all sound like a bunch of right wingnuts! Grow up and try to learn to be kind to others because there's not a damn one of you here that is perfect or even close to it.

I'm sorry Office Manager... maybe I'm not reading clearly, did you say "Grow up and try to learn to be kind to others" after referring to someone as a "dip wad"? Nice... And actually, the holiday did originate from the mindset of being thankful... it's the history side notes of "pilgrims and indians" that's been drastically stretched and changed. The history of native americans and the settlers taking land has never had anything to do with the story of the holiday. The harvest season was in the fall, they gave THANKS for the harvest and crops in order to sustain through the cold months of winter. Before you say someone is wrong, you might want to be right. It's not about Christians vs non-Christians. This holiday is not "about murder" and either the media exaggerated what Angelina said, or she's just an idiot who hears one part of "story" in history and no facts behind a holiday and immediately her opinion must matter to the world cause she's rich. I'm glad I worked at a school for years because it's parents like her that teach their kids opinions and not facts for them to make their own opinions is a HUGE problem these days. Take your own advice... grow up, be kind.
