Angelina Jolie Refuses to Celebrate Thanksgiving, Thinks It's a 'Story of Murder'

While everyone is preparing to give thanks tomorrow, one of America's most famous families, the Jolie-Pitts, have decided to sit this Thanksgiving out.

"Angelina Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans," a friend of the actress tells me. "To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn't her style. She definitely doesn't want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder."

Angelina has been filming her directorial debut, about a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love during the Bosnian War. Angie, always extremely sensitive to the suffering throughout the world, is filming in English and the native languages.

"Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday," an insider tells me.

And although Brad Pitt recently told 'EXTRA,' "We'll whip up a turkey somewhere," he certainly hasn't shared that plan with Angelina. A family friend tells me, "If Brad wants turkey, he will have to cook it himself. For Angie, it will be another day when America tries to rewrite history."

Please, let's get history right. Thanksgiving was established by President George Washington as a national day of prayer to give thanks to God for the blessings bestowed upon the nation. Nothing more, nothing less. The Pilgrims and Indians story is bogus and has about as much to do with the actual Thanksgiving holiday as the Easter Bunny does with Easter. We've all been fooled by our cute little grade school pageants into believing something that just isn't true.

I agree with you Barbara. Despite missing this holiday (which apparently pisses some people on here off as if they have nothing better to do), she seems like she does enough and counts her blessings year-round. She seems like a very generous person that uses her celebrity for good. People should be taking influence from her charity work.

I don't get how it's anyone's business why Angelina Jolie doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving. Or even why people on here seem to be taking it so personally.

I wonder, would they have the guts to say this in person? The internet brings out the negativity in people like crazy. It's a sad fact.

Its just venting. People get aggravated. It's better to let steam off here among people who don't know you than to hold it in, let it fester and blow up in someone's face later.

Yeah I'm sure a lot of people have bottled up anger over Angelina Jolie's decision not celebrating Thanksgiving. If they do, they need to check into a hospital because they have serious problems. They need to find real issues to be mad about.

Poor Brad, are you sorry you are not with Jen. You both had the same values. I'm sure your parents raised to enjoy Thanksgiving and gave you values and traditions. Angie has no values or traditions to give to her children. I really do not respect any Mother that only thinks of herself. She certainly does care what Brad, his family or childres need.
