'Dancing' Producers Relieved Bristol Palin Didn't Win

'Dancing With The Stars' producers are thrilled Bristol Palin didn't win in last night's finale, fearing her triumph would have made it next to impossible to get celebrities to sign up for next season's competition.

"Hollywood is famously liberal, and to have the daughter of a Tea Party candidate win would have meant that booking the show would have been impossible," a casting director tells me. "Now that Jennifer Grey has won, so many other stars will want to be part of the show and try to get their hands on the mirror ball trophy. If Bristol had won, the show would have been dead."

It's true the 'Dancing' winners are all proud to be part of an elite club, which includes Kelly Monaco, Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brooke Burke, Shawn Johnson and Donny Osmond -- all of whom are much happier to welcome Jennifer into the club than Bristol. (As if Bristol winning would take away from their previous achievements!)

"If Bristol had won it would have made the entire show a joke," an ABC insider tells me. "Now that Jennifer is the winner, the producers are relieved and the show's dignity has been restored."

I really don't understand the anomosity toward her. Has she personally done something to you? Your a perfect example of why America is dying....you listen to what the media says about someone and decide you hate them. Agree, but clearly the producers wanted her to stay around to the finale to keep up the viewership and make more money. They must have incentivized the judges to give Bristol much higher marks than she deserved so that this would happen. Having her on the show was even more stupid than having that indicted politician from Texas on the show... and now it looks like he'll be going to jail where he belongs.

ABC execs are not the only ones who are happy Bristol did not win, I am ecstatic. Now those executives better find another way to do their voting process to avoid what happened this year.
Yes Bristol did improve, but not enough to even be in the finals.
Hooray for Jennifer and Derek, they got what they deserved.

Stupid threads attract stupid posters and I'm sure this article will haul them in like flies. Next years DWTS is possibly going to have a decline in view because they're going to introduce same sex couples. So those right-wing conservative won't be tuning in. Mrs. Rossi-Degeneres has been in talks about being a contestant on the show next year,but only if she get a female dance partner. The producers figure that watching two women dancing together is a good ice breaker ( and the male population will get a cheap thrill) before introducing the country to two guys locked in each others arms. Bristol Palin was an absolute necessity in order to advance the progression of Same sex couples on DWTS.

Are you admitting that YOU are a stupid poster? Face it, the producers are out to make as much money as they can. They will put contestants on the show to maximize viewership. I doubt that same sex dance partners would advance their goal of making money, not that I have anything against same sex dance partners personally.

For Bristol Palin to be on that show in the first place was a joke! I know many of the "stars" are retired or have faded careers, but, what exactly is Bristol's claim to fame? Every time I hear "teen activist", I want to throw a shoe at my TV! She's got no personality and less dancing ability!
