'Dancing' Producers Relieved Bristol Palin Didn't Win

'Dancing With The Stars' producers are thrilled Bristol Palin didn't win in last night's finale, fearing her triumph would have made it next to impossible to get celebrities to sign up for next season's competition.

"Hollywood is famously liberal, and to have the daughter of a Tea Party candidate win would have meant that booking the show would have been impossible," a casting director tells me. "Now that Jennifer Grey has won, so many other stars will want to be part of the show and try to get their hands on the mirror ball trophy. If Bristol had won, the show would have been dead."

It's true the 'Dancing' winners are all proud to be part of an elite club, which includes Kelly Monaco, Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brooke Burke, Shawn Johnson and Donny Osmond -- all of whom are much happier to welcome Jennifer into the club than Bristol. (As if Bristol winning would take away from their previous achievements!)

"If Bristol had won it would have made the entire show a joke," an ABC insider tells me. "Now that Jennifer is the winner, the producers are relieved and the show's dignity has been restored."

The right person won....without question. At the same time why is there so much Bristol bashing? What did she do to any of you? She made tremendous strides through her own effort & hard work. There have been MUCH worse dancers who were kept on longer than they should have been. Having a dislike for Sara shouldn't be taken out on Bristol. In my estimation she is a better person than those of you who are spewing nastiness.
I wish her nothing but the best in whatever lies ahead for her. Congrats to Derek & Jennifer. They deserved to win. I wish Kyle well too as he obviously has a great talent.

I think Bristol tried her best and I don't think it had anything to do with her mother!! After All, Bristol is a person, her own person!!!! Congrats to Jennifer and Derek - The Best Couple Won!

One more thing....perhaps it would be best not to involve ANY political figure in DWTS. It sparks more anger than anything else.

csnthesky, Sarah Palin (and her so obedient husband Todd) put their family in the public eye, and obviously like being there....otherwise why make a reality tv show???? Personally I don't find her life interesting enough to follow...the minute the woman openened her mouth in front of a camera as vp canidate I felt she was full of herself......everyone is entitled to their own opinions....that is what being an American is all about....like her or hate her.....in my opinion Bristol Palin had no place on DWTS...she is not a star, she has no claim to fame other than being Sarah Palins daughter who gave birth as an underaged unwed teen....that isn't a star I'd want my daughter to look up to.

for me it's not about tea party/not tea party...it's not about liberal/conservative...it's about skill...and while she did grow in her capacity over the course of the show, she should never have made it to the final because the skill level wasn't there. the only relevance 'tea party' had on this show was that she was being voted for more by her mother's fans than her own...they became her fan only because they were already hers...she did not have a fan base like many on the show did and therefore borrowed the fan base that is attributable to a political movement.

Seriously, if her mother wasn't sarah palin...A. she would have gotten nowhere near the show...and even if she did, if her mother wasn't sarah palin, she wouldn't have lasted past week one because no one would have voted for her...

so bottom line, I hope the producers had the fear of cancellation put into them by this debacle and go back to brining on people who were either currently stars in some way, or had been stars...and let go of using the media darling of the moment who has not other qualification than a famous parent.

You are so right, John. There is so much jealously of Sarah Palin by liberal women. They hate the fact that she is beautiful and happy. She can also talk without a teleprompter in front of her. Her daughter, Bristol, is also very attractive on the outside as well as inside.

don't forget the "squeaky voice." Even if I wanted to listen to her, I can't get past her stupid voice....NOW YOU NEED TO GO AWAY TOO k!

What do looks have to do with anything? She would have been better suited to dancing, though. But her looks mean nothing to what she is trying to do.

The producers have saved their dignity???????? You have got to be kidding. What they did was make it abundantly clear that they will go to any lengths to get their desired results -- it was obvious that the 4 sets of judges scores (manipulated as well to place their choice in 1st) and the manipulation of the fan votes (a % - not 100%) were all conjured up to control who won. The rumors about Tea Party Voters manipulating the vote was probably released by the producers as well. I have never seen such underhanded actions before in my life. As soon as they announced how they were going to rank the 1st dance last night it was clear what the scores would be before anyone even danced -- and my ignorant guess was right on the money. The producers should be ashamed of themselves and hopefuly the public will stop supporting the show.
