'Dancing' Producers Relieved Bristol Palin Didn't Win

'Dancing With The Stars' producers are thrilled Bristol Palin didn't win in last night's finale, fearing her triumph would have made it next to impossible to get celebrities to sign up for next season's competition.

"Hollywood is famously liberal, and to have the daughter of a Tea Party candidate win would have meant that booking the show would have been impossible," a casting director tells me. "Now that Jennifer Grey has won, so many other stars will want to be part of the show and try to get their hands on the mirror ball trophy. If Bristol had won, the show would have been dead."

It's true the 'Dancing' winners are all proud to be part of an elite club, which includes Kelly Monaco, Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brooke Burke, Shawn Johnson and Donny Osmond -- all of whom are much happier to welcome Jennifer into the club than Bristol. (As if Bristol winning would take away from their previous achievements!)

"If Bristol had won it would have made the entire show a joke," an ABC insider tells me. "Now that Jennifer is the winner, the producers are relieved and the show's dignity has been restored."

I figured that out as well...the show rigged it from the beginning by giving Jennifer the upper hand. In fact, I think Kyle should have won!!!

I totally agree. Bristol & Kyle was used to ensure Jen win in the end. I guarantee u if Brandy was there, she would have never won. She only won by default because the clear winners were Brandy & Maks.

Having Bristol on the show was an obvious joke. Having her go as far a she did was another joke on the voting process. The voting process needs to be tweaked quite a bit to keep terrible dancers from the finals such as Marie Osmond. It was quite plain she could not dance either, but her doll baby fans and her enormous family put her in the finals. The finals should have consisted of Kyle, Brandy, and Jennifer. Unfortunately, this show proved what voting can do. It can put the wrong person where they don't need to be.

If the producers are so glad Bristol didn't win because they wouldn't be able to get celebrities for next season, then they need to change the name of the show to "Dancing with Stars Who Have Dance Training" and only have the judges scores count. The show was supposed to be about celebrities growing and progressing and learning how to dance. The rules are that people vote. Yes Jennifer was the best dancer, but Kyle and Bristol and Kurt came a long way. I think America related to them as beginners who tried to get better every week!

The show did not redeem itself and it is still a joke and I will still never watch it again. They really do need to put some actual stars on there or just fade away. I think it's run its course just like AI. I'm really sick of these reality shows and so called reality shows, think Jersey Shore or Housewives or Kate, or those breeding rabbits on TLC.....I think I'll just listen to some smooth, contemporary Jazz.

Let this be a lesson to ABC and Dancing with the Stars. thats why it is called dancing with the stars not with some political persons kid. keep politics out of this or your show will just go down the tubes. this whole season was a major disaster with Bristol Palin. hopefully you have learned your lesson. your need for ratings almost destroyed the whole program!!!!!

Bristol should not have been on the show in the first place. She is not a star, I did not watch this season because she was on!! Hope the producer's learn from this and have STARS only on.
