George Lopez's Wife Ann Files for Divorce

Ann Lopez, wife of comedian George Lopez, filed divorce papers on Tuesday after the couple had separated in September.

TMZ reports the couple have been married for 17 years and have a 14-year-old daughter, Mayan Lopez.

Ann is requesting spousal support as well as primary physical custody of Mayan. The couple is thought not to have a prenuptial agreement in place.

In 2005, Ann donated a kidney to her talk show host husband. At the time, George said, "I can't pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married."

Of the couple's decision to separate in September, a representative told PEOPLE, "George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage. The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement. They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation."

I don't watch George Lopez any more. I saw his latest special and felt it was a slap in the face of the American public that made him both rich and famous. If there is one thing I can no longer tolerate, it's ingratitude towards our country. Some of the people who owe their success to America seem to have forgotten.

I saw that special too, and came away with the same message. He belittled America and Americans and i always used to watch is show. I really liked him but my feelings changed after seeing that special. He was not special anymore.

He was OK till he had that female part implanted in him. Now he can put this situation in his show. How a male Mexican would respond to having female parts implanted in his system. This chump thinks he's much more important than he is.

Do you seriously think it's funny to put down women and white people? No wonder your wife left you George. Man, you should get a grip on what you say on the air in front of millions of people. Kirstie Alley is a gorgeous woman inside and out. A woman's worth doesn't depend on the dress size she wears. I'll never watch your show! You have to earn respect to get it George and you have really missed the mark.
