John Travolta, 56, and wife Kelly Preston, 48, welcomed their new son Benjamin on Tuesday. The baby was born in a Florida hospital and weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz., according to the Associated Press.
"John, Kelly and their daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family," the family said in a statement. "Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully."
It's happy news indeed for the Travoltas, after son Jett died of a seizure in January 2006 at only 16 years old.

Actually Jett died in January, 2009. Not 2006.

Well, since they chose to make the subject/issue public themselves, as public figures in an interview, was there a "silent birth" or not ? I can't imagine it myself.....yikes !! But best wishes for perfect health to all four.

So happy for John, Kelly, and his big sister. God could not give you a better gift and you all deserve the happiness and laughter the new baby boy will give to all of you. You truly deserve all the good things, you both have been extremely helpful to other people in your lives. May God watch over all of you.

It is quite a risk to have a child at 48!

A stupid & totally selfish act on their part. They will be at least 70 when the kid graduates college. Another baby cannot replace the child they lost;if they followed Christ instead of L Ron Hubbard, they would find the strength they needed to deal with Jett's loss instead of trying to soothe their pain with a new baby.

I feel sorry for the child when I consider what the parents are like and their philosophy of life.
