Willie Nelson Arrested for Pot Possession

Country superstar Willie Nelson was arrested Friday morning for alleged marijuana possession, RadarOnline.com reports. The musician was stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint and reportedly found with six ounces of marijuana.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West told KVIA that Nelson was traveling in his tour bus from California to Austin when he was stopped by Border Patrol agents Friday morning around 9am. An officer smelled pot when a door was opened and decided to search the bus, the Associated Press reports. Nelson was one of three people arrested.

Nelson was booked at the Hudspeth County jail on a $2,500 bond--which the singer quickly posted. He's since been released.

Nelson's rep, Elaine Schock, declined to comment.

This isn't the 10-time Grammy winner's first run-in with the law. In 2006, Louisiana authorities found a pound-and-a-half of marijuana and mushrooms on his tour bus. He was charged with a misdemeanor.

Russell,,, The old saying is bs talks, and money walks.
I am a fan of Willie's, and have been forever.
Hes a very nice man, who has helped many people.
I remember when he made lots of money for all the famers, by creating Farm Aid years ago. So many farmers were losing their farms due to the economy. That was not the only time he gave his time, and money to help others in need.
Border patrol need to stick with catching the real criminals insead of arresting a pot smoker.
Theres so many more huge problems in this country, other than our tax dollars being wasted on this.
Willie is not hurting anyone but himself.

He's not even hurting himself. If he were taking legal drugs from the doctor, he'd be hurting himself. Once the government can make money, pot will be legal. No one has ever OD'd on pot. Deaths from legal cigarettes, alcohol, prescriptions are countless.

There's no fool like an old fool.
Health issues are always a concern for seniors .. apparently, he thinks he is above stumbling around and falling and breaking a hip or a shoulder .. then again, who would really care? He is a lonely old man that does not realze being an 'outlaw' went out of style a long, long time ago.

And yes, old folks do have to be careful and not fall, because, they do not heal as fast as a young person. and as far as caring, there are millions out that care not only about Willie, but us old folks also, so lighten up, you will join us some day.

Here in Texas when Willie gets busted for weed it's no big deal. He'll pay a fine, pose for pictures with all the cops and continue "doing what Willie does". People in Texas think that if they live a good life, when they die they get to go to "Willie's House".

Oh for Pete's sake! Isn't the Border Patrol supposed to be chasing illegal aliens? The officers should be reprimanded for wasting time and resources. No big surprise that you would find a little weed in Willie's transport. Leave the dude alone.

Willie, like a lot of Americans, Smokes Marijuana! What is wrong with that? Decriminalize it, watch the borders for aliens, not easy going people trying to make a living.
I'd rather have someone smoking weed and driving than booze.

Willie is the only man ever to smoke weed in the White House. Cut him some slack.While busting Willie for a quarter bag of weed, 5 tons of cocaine has made its way into the country and will hit the streets in less than a week. I guess if the weed guys paid off the DEA and the Cops like the Coke guys do, they wouldn't get busted as often.
