Willie Nelson Arrested for Pot Possession

Country superstar Willie Nelson was arrested Friday morning for alleged marijuana possession, RadarOnline.com reports. The musician was stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint and reportedly found with six ounces of marijuana.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West told KVIA that Nelson was traveling in his tour bus from California to Austin when he was stopped by Border Patrol agents Friday morning around 9am. An officer smelled pot when a door was opened and decided to search the bus, the Associated Press reports. Nelson was one of three people arrested.

Nelson was booked at the Hudspeth County jail on a $2,500 bond--which the singer quickly posted. He's since been released.

Nelson's rep, Elaine Schock, declined to comment.

This isn't the 10-time Grammy winner's first run-in with the law. In 2006, Louisiana authorities found a pound-and-a-half of marijuana and mushrooms on his tour bus. He was charged with a misdemeanor.

Just as long as the driver wasn't smoking pot! Look everyone knows Willie smokes. Pot should be legal and sold just like Booze. That way taxes would get paid... nothing funny would be in the stuff... and the sale of brownies and pizzia would skyrocket!

why is the border patrol pulling over people travelling between Cali and Austin ? and if they smelled marihooka they wouldn't have found any illegals in the bus thats for sure , their only mules,they don't smoke the crap - and isn't Willie in his 80's by now ? the man's got a fioot in the grave ,why care if he puffs a lil doobie every now and then - we need to change Marihooka laws in this country - BADLY!!

Much easier to arrest Willie than the Wall Street and Media Thiefs .... don't you know! And the drug cartels, as they have guns and will shoot back. Perhaps Willi should just sign up for the medical Marijuana and get them off his back.

Well it looks like our police have done a great job protecting us against the super bad guys again. What a waste of the tax payers money. Can you imagine? This goes on hundreds of times every day and just overcrowds our prisons so much they let out the murderers and rapists. What are they thinking? It's a national disgrace and it needs to be corrected so we can get on with making our country safe against the real dangerous criminals.
